What are some of your favorite candies from childhood?

Necco Wafers was my favorite movie candy. I loved Sugar Daddies too, but wouldn't dare try one now - I might lose some teeth!

That's why Sugar Babies were invented.

I always liked Candy Dots--the pretty dots on a strip of paper? Not the jujube/gummy bear-type candies.

Tootsie-anything. Pop, drop, roll.

And Charms pops. God, that took a lot for me to remember.

Anyone remember Carnation Breakfast Bars?

I sure do. Those were wonderful. That and a glass of milk was all I needed.

I should have stocked up on those when I had the chance. I remember when I first found out that they'd changed the formula and made them 'chewy'. I have never been so disgusted in my life. I wonder if they sell the originals on Ebay or something? (They could make a fortune if they started selling them again because so many people want them!)

The problem was that I "needed" it about 3 times a day.

That sentence, in isolation, is really funny.

Oh, you mean button candy. My mother loves those things. I never understood what the big deal was.

They were inexpensive and sweet-tasting. That was all it took.

I remember it was always a hassle getting them off of the paper without having paper residue left on the dots.

I used to like Bit-o-Honey. Can't eat them anymore though. Still like Clark bars too.

Not really a candy but how about Space Food Sticks? I used to like the peanut butter flavor although they had the consistency of plumbers putty.

Parma Violets

Bazooka bubble gum. That was the best gum! And the tiny little cartoons that came with the gum...with Bazooka Joe. A penny a piece. Yum!

Nerds, Dinasour eggs (when they were a big jawbreaker that had multiple layers), Popeye candy cigarettes, Lik-m-stiks, Runts, and whatever chocolate my grandma gave me for Christmas (usually slowpokes or Toblerone)

Did those have the same taste as the candy necklaces?

When I was a kid our mall had a store called the Carmel Corn shop. As you can guess they sold different types of popcorn and candy. It had the greatest scent in the world when you walked by. They used to sell long rope licorice in black, red, and grape. I don't think I have ever seen grape licorice again, but I'd kill for some.

To be honest, they were so tiny, they didn't have much taste at all!

How about those Astronaut Chocolate Sticks?
Yummy!

How about gum? In Junior High, I always chewed gum. I used to like Wrigley's Spearmint, Peppermint and some other brand's Teaberry gum.

peeps - only liked them at Easter - now they offer them for every occasion!

I LOVED Teaberry gum. My grandfather would give it to me to keep me quiet in church when I was little. And that and Big Red is what I chewed all the time when I was in Middle School. It has been ages since I have seen either. :( I miss Teaberry.

Truck Stops, several chains that I have neen in on my travels carry several exotic flavors of rope licorice

and my favorite candies from my childhood were
Dinosour Eggs, Super Mario Bros. Bars, and this cherry taffy, it was 2 lines of rectangular soft-taffy in a long rectangular box, if anyone knows the name (and where to get some) tell me
