The Day the Earth Stood Still

One word: Keanu.

'nuff said.

i'm really enjoying the two word posts here fellas

:rommie:

The remake was one of the worst movies I saw last year. I wanted to take that little kid and drown him in a shallow creek.

It was an okay sci-fi film. I thought that it ended very abruptly. If I recall correctly we have a view of Earth from space and it just ends...it needed something more.

the remake sucked big time. I watched the original couple days before I saw the remake. I had high hopes and the teaser looked ok. But you can't compare the original with this awful waste of time.

Yup. I thought the trailers were nicely moody and creepy, but somehow that just didn't translate into a good movie.

And I'm not a Keanu hater like everyone else here... but the way he played the character just didn't work at all.

He's really really really really really really really really really really really bad and I have a firm policy against seeing any more movies with him. Circa-1990 CGI is more lifelike and expressive.

However Keanu in circa 2006 CGI ain't bad.

Provided Richard Linklaiter is the director, Robert Downey, Jr. is among his co-stars, and Reeves is playing a character incredibly detached and alienated from the world around him, I'll buy your premise, Kegg. :p

On the subject of the remake of The Day The Earth Stood Still, I did not like it. Only saw it once, in the theatres, and haven't bothered to return to it.
