I Mudd what did I just see boring or what

Fleet Captain
I just watched I Mudd and what a lame lame TOS episode just cheesy humour all the way through what are your thoughts on this episode

I'm sure it makes the list of favorite episodes of many Trek fans. By the majority it is by no means lame and is considered very funny.

I always thought of 'I Mudd' as one of the better eps, that are certainly worse ones. The story added some humour and for a change no aliens trying to destroy the Enterprise. But I am pleased that the only used the Mudd character twice in the entire series of TOS, now that would have a bore.

It's the first episode I ever bought on home video (laser disc, backed with "Metamorphosis"). I think it's great--almost as funny as "The Trouble with Tribbles".

I, Mudd is fun.
Yup. I always figured it was just deemed one of TOS's classic camp romps right up there with "Trouble with Tribbles", but apparently people like it less than I do.

This is, after all, the Mudd episode that doesn't suck; and Harcourt Fenton Mudd is something of a lovable buffoon.

I'm with the naysayers on this one. Love the character of Mudd, but loathe both episodes he's in, find the whole Mudd's wife thing tiresome.

I Mudd what did I just see

Presumably, you just saw I, Mudd. Of course, it's hard to say for sure, as your question seems to be addressed to an episode of a television program.

boring or what

Incisive critique.

I get it. You couldn't handle an episode title - or anything else - with punctuation.

A beaker full of death, please tell me your avatar is from a video I can get my hands on.

Or at least a photo spread.

"I, Mudd" is one of those episodes that has always been at the bottom of my list. I prefer episodes to be a little less campy. When I see that one WTF scene it just makes me cringe. "Mudd's Women" was decent though, I thought.

I lean the other way. I find "Mudd's Women" to be pretty embarrassing and the ending (Eve gives herself a makeover with the power of positive thinking...makeup, hair, and all!) doesn't hold water. "I, Mudd" on the other hand, never fails to make me laugh.

Just like with Star Trek's other comedy episodes ("Tomorrow is Yesterday", "The Trouble with Tribbles", "A Piece of the Action") you have to remove yourself from the the "sci-fi-action" mindset and settle into the "comedy relief" one. Just enjoy the episode for what it was intended to be; a showcase for the actors' comedic skills (which were considerable).

I have never been a fan of Harry Mudd (Please, Mr. Abrams, don't include this character in Star Trek XII!). However, I, Mudd is a fun watch -- it is great to see the cast having fun!

I, Mudd is a masterpiece of an episode.

The only thing wrong with it is that it wasn't followed up on in other episodes and movies.

Mudd was way under-used in Trek as a whole.

I far prefer him as an irritant to Q or any of the modern day counterparts.
