Holiday Greetings from TrekBBS! (.mp3)

Love ZR's accent :techman::techman:
I know. He has a beautiful accent.

It made my knees melt. *sigh*
Mine too. Like a giddy little school girl!

I thought he was John Lennon!

As for ZR, I thought he sounded like Dr. Bashir, from DS9.
Actually one of the things that popped into my mind as well.

You guys ought to hear me sing. Actually, no, you don't. ;) (NO.)

Thanks, guys! I'm actually blushing right now. :D

That was an amazing greetings clip, Flukie. All of you (well, apart from that one Alexander Siddig soundalike :p) sound great, really great.

I keep listening to this over and over. :D

^I was very close to correct with yours, RJ. Only off by the last vowel sound.
You win. :bolian:  I'm usually at the top of the list whenever a "How The Hell Do You Pronounce These Usernames" Thread comes along. :rommie:

Thanks, guys! I'm actually blushing right now. :D
Paying Alexander Siddig to perform your message really paid off. ;)

My favorite part is the tribbles cooing while tsq is reading while the red alert klaxon goes off to announce the arrival of T'Bonz. :D

 Very appropriate. Although Tribbles would like me. :p

I couldn't resist posting in character. My stupid recording program would not get all the message if I took too long to read, so I had to read in a hurry.

Just getting it to work was a challenge for this middle-aged Romulan. :p

That was brilliant Flukie, and well done to everyone who contributed. :)

That was a question I meant to ask - how many languages were in yours, Nerys?

Cardăsda--A conlang I created for my fanfic series, Star Trek: Sigils and Unions.

You had me wondering what that first language was. I was thinking it was some hybrid of Russian and German!

LOL! That IS interesting to hear how people describe it, though...that might help me with the descriptions I use in my story. You're not the first person to say it sounded Slavic--which is interesting because I totally didn't have that in mind, but it is what it is, apparently!

BTW, T'Bonz...apparently I'd been pronouncing your name wrong. STILL keep hearing it rhyming with "BONES" in my head! And I'm SO glad I'm not the only one that spoke a conlang... ;)

I never realized how much like birds chirping the TOS sound effects sounded until I listened to this. Stellar job everyone. AS, I've never heard your voice before...but in my mind, its always the one I've imagined you having. TSQ, you totally sound like a 1st grade teacher (the nice kind, not the evil kind that forgoes nap time to get more addition practice in). :)

Listening to this really made my day, so thank you all for participating, and thank you Flukie for running the show.

It's not the first time. Bonz is a nick for Bonnie, but people think of Bones, not Bons.

I couldn't resist being in character. I'd have liked to have slowed down what I said, but I am technically challenged and it was all I could do to get the thing recorded! Many profanities were uttered during the process.

Oh! NOW it makes perfect sense! Over a year and "Bonnie" never came to mind!

Plus, the other thing that came to my mind when I saw your name was T-Bone. A funny story...before I ever posted on TrekBBS, and knew where the name came from, I read a Trek book that had the name T'Bonz in it and I got mad because I thought it was a stupid pun and the author was just not taking his job seriously. Said book also had Starfleet officers named "Clay Aiken" and "Ruben Studdard" (who were on the same mission together), which doubly pissed me off because it was a VERY obvious bad pop culture reference.

Now I find myself thinking maybe I was a bit too harsh. ;) (Though the American Idol bit is STILL unforgivable in a TREK book.)

AstroSmurf and Tom Rudolph - you guys have nothing to worry about, you absolutely do not sound like the Chipmunks! You both have lovely deep voices.

A wonderful Christmas recording - thanks for putting it together, Flukie!
Why thank you!

Thank you dear! I guess I am so used to hearing this very deep baritone when I listen to myself. Then I actually hear myself and I am shocked at how high it sounds.
Exactly what happens to me! I sound so much deeper to myself and I can't pick up on the "gayish" intonations I have until listening to myself on tape or video. :p

T'Bonz the Vulcan is in a few Trek books (to my delight) and she is Vulcan 'cause no Romulans in Starfleet. (Lucky T'Bonz is half-Vulcan, half-Romulan - and all attitude.)

It's fun in some of the books to see names I recognize, either from here, or from TV shows, other sci-fi franchises, etc.

It can be. I'm still not forgiving the Studdard/Aiken thing, though. ;)

BTW, what got you into roleplaying a Romulan? I had to ask...as you know, Cardassian women are known for curiosity! ;)

You know, I'm not sure. I've always been a sucker for the Vulcans. I think when I found out that the Romulans were like Vulcans, only edgier, and allowed to express emotion, I was sold.

I thought it had everything to do with Romulan Ale, but I wasn't certain.
