Life-Size Shuttlecraft Help

Excellent pictures. I'm interested in the inside electronics on the wall. Can you talk about how you made those devices and what their purposes are? And what about that keyboard that lights up? The graphics are great! I'm really impressed. How many people other than you and the redshirt were in Starfleet costume?

The inside lighting and wall panels are just Rubbermaid-type containers screwed to the walls with either a tap light, pumpkin light or Christmas lights inside. The lights above and to the sides of the doors flashed red for the Red Alert while other others were either steady white light or flickering.

The control panel, and this is the fun part, is just K-Mart icecube trays duct taped from the back side with animated flashing Christmas lights. People would just stand and stare at it and take pictures.

So, what was the final disposition of this beast?

Oh, I didnt know there was another post here since the forum didnt email me! Sorry. It has survived 2 rain and wind storms with minor damage that I have repaired, but there are now plans for me destroy it after Christmas.

Unless any of you have other ideas?

Or Craigslist.

"One Starfleet Shuttlecraft, great condition, rides great, great for Starfleet officers stranded in the past!"

Contact your local chapter of STARFLEET International or International Federation of Trekkers. Maybe somebody or some club wants it and could store it.

Contact a couple of the fan films. That shuttle'd work as a set piece. Doesn't have to be a perfect replica and nothing says there aren't variations of them. At least you could see your hard work perserved in some form.

Also, what were the console displays made from ? I'd love to here more details about the ins and outs...

Look a page back. :)

Yeah, I saw that. My post, #226, mentions it. I had been hoping to see more pics and info about the small visual displays on the main console. Not sure what kind of those containers are and how they were done. Post # 218 on the previous page has a group of pics. Mid way down there is a good shot of what I am talking about.

The 2 small displays on the control console are just Dollar Store containers that I put an image into, painted black, and put a tap light in. Simple and durable.

From what I can tell, there are no Trek clubs in Oregon of any kind. I've emailed a couple of the big Trek fan film peope in the past with no replies what-so-ever, to which I was a little surprised about at least not getting some generic response.

I did email The McMinnville Air and Space Museum which contains The Spruce Goose, Titan Rockets and many other cool things; to which my email has been forwarded to their museum curator.

But still, I'm running out of ideas for it.
