Scenes were shown on an early trailer of a Galaxy Class bridge so there will probably be more than one bridge. During the one combat scene on this trailer we see what appears to be a Captain's Chair.

    More about bridges:

Not impressed by their excuse of the bridges looking bigger. If Bridge Commander or the Elite Force games got bridges right, why can't STO?

I don't think it's bigger 'looking', they just physically are bigger. Whether it works or not in game remains to be seen.

Any idea if this is staying as a PC-only game? I remember hearing a while back it would be on some of the consoles, but that was a while ago, and I've not heard about it since.

They'd like to release both Champions and STO onto the XBOX at the very least. Both were made with that console in mind, however it still comes down to business wrangling with Microsoft.

Also, new 'Fleet Action' video: http://tinyurl.com/ykpopcn

all right... i have decided to pick up the game at launch... i figured, if i suffered through a bunch of crap MMO's that i really didnt care about, i can suffer through this MMO that i am curious about... unless i get access to the beta or just hear that the game is total crap, i will be picking it up.

This is starting to concern me as well. I saw the same thing too (PC/Console) and there doesn't seem to be any mention of any console, XBox, PS3, Wii or otherwise. A friend of mine works at a local GameStop and apparently they can't even pre-order the PC version yet, despite what the trektoday.com article said. In fact, they have the release date listed as being in March - again, for PC only. However, the online version of the game order from at GameStop.com is taking pre-orders (PC Only).

My friend's co-workers have heard some rumor that Cryptic is having unspecified "problems" with the game on XBox that they're in the process of working out, and I'm also hearing that some aspects of the Klingon game are incomplete. All unsubstantiated and nothing has been stated at all either on the main Cryptic site, the official STO site or XBox.com. In fact, the silence on this is deafening as more people are starting to ask why. I would love to know if anyone knows something substantive about this. I'm starting to get quite nervous.

There is also the fact that we have yet to really see anything in terms of the exploration aspects of the game in any videos or screen shots either.

Yeah, it's concerning me too. The fact that they've had problems with CO at launch, saying they'd need more time to test things for STO, and then going ahead with a similar schedule to what they had with CO, and then fumbling the ball in terms of beta invitations (ie a lot of people complaining that they've been promised entry to the beta after having purchased either a 6 month or lifetime sub and not receiving it), it's not exactly filling me with hope that this will be the game we want STO to be. Something doesn't feel right.

Compared to other games at around this time point, we hardly have any concrete information about what's in the game. And usually when a dev hides something, it usually means they don't want people to see its faults as they only release the information soon before launch. In fact, you often see games releasing all their info on release day or a week before, but those are often games that have major faults with them, such as shovelware.

i would be shocked if the console versions come out at the same time as the PC... again, if CO is anything to go by, the PC one will needs lots of patching and polishing before it's in a decent state. acceptable (to a degree) on PCs, but not on consoles... and again you run into issues with patching approval from MS and Sony.

i agree that the lack of details on gameplay is very suspect. the amount of coverage is pretty lackluster also... if the game is supposed to be out in 3 months, it sure doesnt feel like it...

^^^Your not joking, if the games really is only 3 months away until its release its very very unusual for there to be almost nothing about about the game in real terms of how its looks and runs on a PC at this stage, considering its supposed to be on PC/console and yet nothing solid has been released of the game as it nears a supposed release.

I would not be surprised if they announced another delay real soon, not surprised in the slightest.

Yep, you're right, Haggis. About the only concrete info at this point are the system specs. And website is a joke. Compare it with other websites for games to be released around the same time, and they probably have more info than STO. Yeah, I predict it getting pushed back to June. It's frustrating because I do want this game to succeed but all signs point to 'Big Meh Mega Flop'. If you're brave enough to venture out onto their forums, you'll see that there's a lot of complaints about what should and shouldn't be done; a lot of negativity, which frankly means Cryptic must be doing something wrong.

To be truthful, after they posted on how you get a ship...I was less than joyed. There seems to be no progression at all.

I do not think they will announce a delay. The release is scheduled for February. I would say more about the concerns listed above but I am in closed beta and under a NDA but I do not feel that people's concerns will last...

It could be either one of the Intrepid variants or one of the variants for the Souvereign class.

At least that's what it resembles the most.

damn i wish i could have gotten into the beta... that would ease my mind about the game... but based on what they've shown of the game, and their past track record i am not optimistic. i suspect the game will do "okay" at best...

maybe i can get into the public open beta... if anyone has any way in, send me a PM.

Yeah, I had hoped to get in on that too. However according to gamestop, they are offering beta access if you pre-order the game.

ahh... so what if i preorder, play the beta, then decide "i don't like this game"? can i cancel my preorder and get my money back?

also, the bonus power you get for pre-ordering seems like it could be a potential issue (paying for an object that makes your ship better)... but i dont know how the game works, or how that item works, so who knows...
