Yep, that's right.
The biggest feature of University of West Florida's new Science and Engineering building (construction to be completed by start of next semester) is a state-of-the-art virtual reality classroom. http://uwf.edu/sse/holodeck.cfm Yes, the website actually uses the term holodeck. How awesome is that?
Unfortunately, students won't be able to try it out when it's not being used. This is no doubt due to how expensive it is, not just to have purchased and set up the technology, but also to run it. And of the classes I have left to complete, I don't see any that I can imagine would be making use of it. So I guess I won't be experiencing it first-hand.
Still, just having such technology on my campus is pretty awesome.
Anyone else attend a college/university that features this technology? Has anyone here actually used it?
