Next movie, let the woman wear pants.

Dusty Ayres

Commodore
The skirts look as silly as they did before on the original show, and on landing party missions, I bet that there will be skinned knees and cut-open legs by female members of the crew of Enterprise, and a whole other lot of wardrobe malfunctions related to the skirt (Imagine if Captain Jane Tiberia Kirk was wearing these skirts, and had to fight an alien monster or bad guy of the week-she'd be half naked before it was over, with her bra and panties showing under a torn uniform!) Not very nice to contemplate, especially if Uhura becomes head of security like people want her to be.

So I think that a variation on the uniforms from The Cage should be used for the women of Starfleet. Anybody agree with me?

I think the creators of "Fringe" agree with you; their heroine kicks butt in pants.

That would be amazing.

LOL Who wants that?

half naked

bra and panties showing

Not really a convincing argument, you got there . . .

Pants were an option for women in Star Fleet in ST11 - some of the women in the background were wearing them.

The responses above are why IMO TPTB are unlikely to put all the women in pants - the skirts are too popular with those who like looking at women.

I'm holding out for more shirt rippage for the fellas. ;)

Yeah, pants would be better for landing party duty.

I'd hate to lose the skirts altogether, however.

Just get Chris Pine to rip the frak out of his shirts and you can hike the skirts up to their necklines for all I care. :rommie:

My wife loved the skirts... we looked all over town for an affordable Uhura costume for Hallowe'en. They were all rip offs over $70, though.

If I were a female serving aboard the Enterprise, I'd want to wear skirts sometimes and pants on other days. I agree that if I were a member of a landing party, I'd feel more comfortable in pants. Better suited for adventure and wacky hijinks.

I agree on that. I think you were going to be part of a landing party, you should wear pants beacuse of rough surfaces of the plannets and not to mettion your combat with other aliens all the time.

In the next movie, they'll establish that during landing parties women wear pants and men wear kilts.

Hee! KirkSpockTOSFan, I love your location. :D That was one of my favorite lines. And you're definitely right... many of the planets they venture to are not all verdant grass and gentle hills!

The MINISKIRTS are a MUST!

I mean there's Kirk, Bones, Spock, Pike, Scotty, Sulu, and Chekov as the male characters..

And Uhura as the ONLY girl... they might as well dress her up in practically nothing to compensate for that! It's all for the guys.
