I have discovered a few shows through DVD, such as:
Deadwood. One of the most gripping, intense dramas I've ever seen.
Slings and Arrows. As a former theater geek, I found this just funny as hell.
The Last Detective. A quiet, understated mystery series that was refreshingly deep in exploring the main character.
Secret Agent (aka Danger Man). Hubby and I are both HUGE Prisoner fans, so seeing the precursor was a must. While parts of it are a bit slow, and a bit dated, other aspects were surprisingly contemporary and sophisticated. Not a bad spy show.
Wonderfalls. A marvelously dark, quirky, fantasy show. Similar to Pushing Daisies but much more in the "real" world---er, aside from the talking plastic toys, and what not. A real gem.
