NFL Football 2009

The thing is, the Jets will probably be a good team in a couple years. The players are buying into his system and playing hard, and I think Sanchez will develop into a good QB, especially if they can get a couple receivers around him.

I just can't stand all the chest thumping and bravado from him and the team. None of them have accomplished anything, and it's fun to watch their season implode.

I think we played fairly well in the second half.

You did play fairly well, for the Rams ... but we turned the ball over and pretty much sat on the lead, so ... it's not as if the Cards were ever in real danger of losing.

There sure is a precipitous drop off from Warner to Leinart.

I think Whisenhunt played it just right. Don't turn the kid loose with an 18-point lead. Just let him bring it home.

In addition, he drove them pretty well twice before his tight end decided to hand you the ball.

I'm not worried about Leinart at all. When Warner retires, he'll step in and lead them competently.

GO CUTLER!! Oh wait, that's Matt Stafford doing his best imitation of Cutler a few weeks ago.

Actually, there hasn't really been any chest thumping since the first loss, to New Orleans. Those first three weeks gave the Jets a reason to talk shit, especially as--you had to know this was coming, Pats fans--they won against New England.

And it'll be fun knowing Tom Brady will be at home watching the Colts and Saints play in the Super Bowl.

I sure didn't expect that tonight. I guess the Broncos have some pride left. Although I thought nothing good was happening when they were 1st and goal and racked up 4 false starts on the drive. :wtf: Immediately after, I learned that the HD feed of NFL Network isn't running a delay since we clearly heard Josh McDaniels dropping a motherfucker on his offense on the sideline.

Defense looked good, offensive line held the pressure off and Moreno held onto the ball.

My new season prediction is 7-9.

Denver, where have you been the past 4 weeks!?! It was nice to see Denver return to form again. The defense was back to being dominating, and the offense was back to doing something. They stuck with the run all night, which is something that I felt was sorely needed in past weeks... they always abandoned it too early, and being one-dimensional like that crippled them. They need to get more TD's in the redzone rather than FG's though.

After the last 4 weeks, I still don't trust them yet. They'll need to maintain to regain my faith in the season, but this at least gives me back some hope that I've been seriously lacking.

Well Delhomme's back in the chase for most interceptions. Gave up four more today.

On the other hand I can't believe the Dolphins lost to the Bills. :(

And interestingly enough, the two teams that have traded away their first round draft picks in 2010 are......Carolina and Chicago. They won't be able to make an upgrade at QB via the draft.

The Bears don't need a new QB before they get a new offensive line, some good receivers, and an offensive coordinator whose head isn't completely up his ass, among other pieces they need first. If Cutler still plays badly with those pieces in place, then it's time for him to go.

This just in from the NFL's lower ranks.

TENNESSEE TITANS BEAT ARIZONA CARDINALS AS TIME EXPIRES TO WIN 20-17!!

Titans have now won 5 games in a row after starting 0-6. First team ever to do so.

Titans: 5-6

I now resume discussion of todays other games.

Good Lord, that Titans game had me having traumatic flashbacks!

The Arizona defense has some 'splaining to do.

My Beloved Rams looked like they might have a little life in them, then reverted back to form rather quickly with costly turnovers.

Dear Santa, please bring us a shiny new quarterback. I've been a real good boy this year.

Your Pal,

1001001

You know, a surging Titans could potentially cost Denver a wildcard spot, but I can't help but root for them. That would be pretty impressive and cool to see them go from 0-6 to a playoff spot. They're on a roll right now.

I feel bad for Tim right now. I really do.

Tim?

I am not a Titans fan nor a VY fan, but I do like good stories... and Vince Young's qualifies as just that. Before today, I was still unsure about him really being "back". However, he was faced with the toughest situation: a little over 2 minutes to go in the game, trailing by 4 pts, against a very good defense and 99 yds from paydirt ......and he wins the game

The Colts have clinched the AFC South and are still three games up on all other AFC teams in the race for home field. I've seen this organization have very good teams, and this one ranks right up at the top. Their Achilles heel and greatest strength lies in the knowledge they are good enough to win while playing badly. Hopefully the team doesn't rest of its laurels and wait too long to get going once the playoffs start, or another great regular season will have been for naught.
