Wow, this thread really blew up in no time. I'm surprised that so many people like her. She strikes me as one of those pop stars people are supposed to hate.
What do I think of her? I saw her in an interview a while back and wasn't impressed with her flashy platinum blonde persona. And yeah, I also thought she looked like a man in drag. I do however like the song "Paparazzi", and she looks really good in that 2005 clip posted upthread. If she went around looking like that I might have taken more notice.
Noted.I love "Just Dance" and "Paparazzi."
Never heard them. I am going to get her album tomorrow. Not sure what I am going to get myself into. I will have to remove the TREX XI soundtrack from my cd player..but..I'm willing to take the risk!!!
I was going to get Adam Lambert's album..not now.

If she went around looking like she did in 2005 she'd be mistaken for Vanessa Carlton. That's kind of the problem--she has to stand out because there are just way too many "cute chick on a piano" acts out there.
So, she's doing it her way and for that I give her mad props.![]()
Lady Gaga seems to be getting a lot more love in this thread than in the one from October: http://trekbbs.com/showthread.php?t=105452&highlight=lady+gaga.
What happened? Were subliminal messages beamed out during her recent performances?
I had never seen her before the AMA show, and then last night she was on Jay Leno. The song was interesting, but I really liked the interview. She came off pretty intelligent. She won me over when she said she idolized Judy Garland AND Led Zepplin. Wow...
I'll say it again; her performance, and more importantly, her songs were far and away the best part of that show. All the other women were awful..she was unique AND her songs actually had some great chord progressions.
So...yes, GAGA was good!!

Yes.
I didn't know she sung Just Dance which I like on Ellen and I was at a friends / date's on November 13th and I hated her music.
Then a few days later I loved her, Bad Romance was stuck in my head, she has taken over the music world.
So yes, that's the only way to explain it. Or God loves her too.
I wanted to hate her so that I'd be the cool internet guy who hates someone popular...but she's really really good. Maybe I can be the cool internet guy who likes someone who is hated by other cool internet guys.

LOL...I know what you mean. My brother-in-law read this where he works and is already giving me shit for it. He says I am channeling my inner 'gayness' since all her fans are gay.
WTF????
Rob
Also, anyone else surprised at how thick of new york accent she still has. People like her usually go through voice training to soften it up.
