Facebook Question

I have a quick question about Facebook that I'm hoping someone here can answer. In MySpace you can configure your profile so that, when someone makes a comment about your profile, or a photo, or a blog, you have to actively choose whether the comment should display. Does Facebook have something similar for its wall, or for comments about your status? If so, then how might I configure it? Thanks in advance!

you can delete things people have said . . . but I don't think there's any kind of moderation queue or anything

Yeah all you have to do is press the little X next to a comment to delete it. You can delete any comment you've made on something from someone else's profile and you can delete any comment from anyone on your profile.

I know things can be deleted after the fact. I wanted to know if things can be "screened" before they appear. I suppose not... and that sucks.

No screening as far as I know, which sucks, as it's a bit like closing the barn door after the horse has bolted in some cases. You can delete it all you want, but if an update has already been sent to your friends list, then deleting after the fact is pretty much useless.

Yeah no screening as far as I can tell. You can shut off your wall altogether so comments can't be made, or you can delete them after the fact, but I don't know of an in-between.

Any trekkies that make Star Trek references on my wall have them deleted immediately!

I'm not quite as ruthless to delete any and all, but I do delete most. It probably would be nice to have a queue, but I guess they haven't thought of it yet.

Okay yeah, I let some get by. I occasionally make Trek references myself and my close friends know I'm into sci-fi. But I definitely play things down around other people.

I am sick and tired of seeing ugly pictures of people I don't know on my Newsfeeds page, as well as comments from third-party friends of friends. I tried deleting the feeds but couldn't do it and tried removing a relative's feeds from the page without taking him off my Friends list. Do you guys know how to get rid of unwanted updates?

If you're worried about people trashing your feed you might remove them from your friends list.

Found it. There is an option to hide someone's Newsfeeds (without deleting the person).

Settings>>>Privacy Settings>>>Profile

Settings>>>Privacy Settings>>>News Feed and Wall

Between those two places you can choose who can see your updates and who's updates you want to see on your feed.

Yep. I did that to an ex of mine, most annoying loser ever.

I have no social life. FML.
Working 4pm-11 pm, 8am class in morning, call me. FML.
Going to class at 8, then working 5-9. Call me. FML.
How from work, need to shit big time. FML.

You are probably wondering why I'm still friends at all? A need him for the little stupid Facebook games.

At least some of them allow you to keep them for games even if you unfriend them (Mafia Wars does this, for example).

Personally, I get angry if anyone uses FML unless something truly crappy happens. They're diluting that phrase.

I have so many people blocked either because they post too much or they post too much uninteresting shit. There was one person from high school who posts a picture of her kid eating every. single. meal. I don't care. Nobody does.

I also block all those stupid game updates. Farmtown, delitown, gangstertown, boredomtown.

Seriously.

f* my life.

There's an amusing website of the same title where people post their stories. It's a good read if you want to feel better about yourself.

ETA: Today, I was posting an answer to a question on a bbs and it seems AJ beat me to it, fml.
