"The Revenge Society"
The Guild of Calamitous Intent comes under attack from an old foe with a new name, Revenge. Revenge’s hunt for the all-powerful Orb brings the entire Guild to the front door of the Venture Compound, where they must face the combined might of Sgt. Hatred and Hank Venture.

Looks like it'll be a heavy arc episode. Hopefully, a little more explanation will go into the Orb, but, somehow, knowing this show, I doubt it.

Also, my money is on Phantom Limb being behind "Revenge".

In case you miss it, the episode hasn't been loaded online, yet. It is usually posted by Monday sometime at the official Venture Bros. website.

As an interesting aside as we wait for tonight's episode, Jackson Publick had this to say concerning the season so far:

P.S. Two small items my perusal of various message boards these past few weeks compels me to comment upon:

1. Captain Sunshine = NOT an actual pedophile.

2. Brock's absence has nothing to do with Patrick Warburton. He didn't ask for more money, he's not too busy for us, he hasn't refused to come back or anything of the sort. It was a creative choice on our part, and Brock WILL be back in the show at some point. Just not this week. Or next.

Well I was right about Sunshine but wrong about Warburton..I just hope we see Brock again before the first 1/2 of season 4 ends..because the second 1/2 doesn't air until summer..and that's a long time to wait for a Samson bloody murderous rampage.

Hatred's pedophilia is wearing thin.

I like him drinking AXE or the CVS equivalent.

And the Guild people behind the screens not even knowing where they were.

Hatred = D. One joke character has now officially worn out the joke.

The angle with Dean:
Rightful heir to the leadership of the Guild
Was a bit out of left field. Though I wonder if it's set up for something bigger down the line.

And the Orb
Apparently it's a worthless piece of junk...I don't by it. Seems like the kind of curve ball the creators might be apt to toss at us

Phantom Limb's arc felt anticlimactic. A bit of "and that's it?"

Ugh...again with the pedophilia jokes. For the most part, I like Hatred, but I was really hoping they'd drop that aspect of the character with the shot he got in the season opener.

I did like the retcon with the Orb being a piece of junk. Somehow, that seems very appropriate for the Venture universe. At the same time, I also liked how everyone had a worried face except for Dr. Venture, suggesting that he already knew it was a worthless piece of junk.

I'll also agree with the above poster who mentioned that Phantom Limb's downfall was completely anticlimactic. Unless they are going to bring him back later on in the series, if that is how he goes out on, that is disappointing. Especially after how badass he was during season 2.

While the episode had its moments, it just wasn't all that funny. And I don't mean that the jokes fell flat...I just didn't find it to be very joke heavy all that much.

It was an ok episode..but yea the Sgt.Hatred pedo stuff is starting to get old and for the looks of it next weeks episode will give us more of the same.

And whats up with the Guild not knowing they were at the right place?...they'd been there before.

Plus if the ORB is broken then that means Dr.Venture Sr. was killed for nothing..if Kano actually did kill him that is.

In fairness...it was Watch and Ward, who, I don't believe, have been there before. In any event, the ruse was quickly discovered.

Seems like it. Colonel Lloyd Venture and Eugen Sandow created a hoax when they broke the original ORB.

I was thinking last night; Venture Bros. has jumped the shark, and I think that history will record scaling back Brock as the reason.

I haven't really enjoyed anything from season four so far; the best of the bunch as of now was the premiere, and it was damaged by that experimental, backwards storytelling style. Unless they can turn it around, it looks like season three will be the pinnacle of the show for me.

Yea they been their before..in the episode Fallen Arches where Orpheus and The Order of the Triad get a archenemy.

That's right. I stand corrected.

Why did Phantom Limb have a mechanical arm? Did I miss something?

His helicopter accident at the end of season 2 was pretty horrible, he only has one "invisible killing appendage" now....

Also, don't forget The Alchemist picking up an invisible appendage and getting all gitty over it.

Something tells me that Sgt H's pedophile jokes are actually going to come into fruition later down the road.

BTW Billy was excellent in this show.

Eh...I'm just getting tired of animated comedy writers thinking that pedophilia is funny.

BTW Billy was excellent in this show.

Haha...I loved how he was in the bag nearly the entire time continuously claiming not to hear anything.

And I'm getting tired of animated comedy that thinks rape and woman violence is funny (*cough Family Guy cough*).

Personally they are going somewhere with Hatred and I think that is how Brock comes back.

Billy was great personally, just the voice.

I'll agree to that.

Excellent episode! Nice to finally see some storyline movement. The Guild is the most interesting part of the show so seeing an episode about them is great. Phantom Limb, Bowie, the Orb, all the best stuff. I'm a little pissed the Orb ended up being broken after the set-up, but this show is all about failure.

BTW I think Jackson likes old musicians. Did you see who those two were? Buddy Holly and I can't remember the other one.

I assumed that the other one was the Big Bopper, and that their fatal plane crash was cover for their entry into the Guild. But then, what happened to the La Bamba guy? His name escapes me at the moment...maybe he knew too much? :)

I though the episode was OK...not a whole lot of laughs this week. I kind of wonder if the business with the Orb being broken is the creator's way of getting the fans to quit worrying about it and expecting it to show up in some meaningful way...considering the disappointment that last season's finale had nothing at all to do with its discovery, other than being the catalyst for Brock going off the reservation.
