Vice Admiral
Ritchie Valens?
Pretty much totally agree, although I found it more funny than I did a properly executed story. The episode didn't feel coherent at all--despite hilarious bits, it seemed to go out of its way to undermine its best real antagonist. PL is the only one (at least only bad guy) who ever had the killer instinct.Ugh...again with the pedophilia jokes. For the most part, I like Hatred, but I was really hoping they'd drop that aspect of the character with the shot he got in the season opener.
I did like the retcon with the Orb being a piece of junk. Somehow, that seems very appropriate for the Venture universe. At the same time, I also liked how everyone had a worried face except for Dr. Venture, suggesting that he already knew it was a worthless piece of junk.
I'll also agree with the above poster who mentioned that Phantom Limb's downfall was completely anticlimactic. Unless they are going to bring him back later on in the series, if that is how he goes out on, that is disappointing. Especially after how badass he was during season 2.
While the episode had its moments, it just wasn't all that funny. And I don't mean that the jokes fell flat...I just didn't find it to be very joke heavy all that much.
PS: Hatred is still pretty awesome. I'm not tired of him yet.
Pretty average.
Dean being the rightful heir to The League of Calamitous Intent? Note how his father didn't seem very surprised. Also, how did Dean know the words? I sense either big holes in the plot, or more to tome later. Heck, maybe he'll grow up to be evil.
There is probably more to come, but Dean's great grandfather was in the original Guild and may have run it. At least before it became an union for supervillains. Dean was used likely before they didn't know where Hank was and Rusty thought it was stupid. Dean seems to like stuff like that anyways.Pretty average.
