Here's my fancasting:

Number One: Jennifer Garner:
Philip Boyce: Mark Harmon
JM Colt: Sprague Grayden
Christine Chapel: Rosamund Pike
Elizabeth Dehner: Anna Torv
Gary Mitchell: Mike Erwin
Yeoman Rand: Kristen Bell
T'Pau: Siân Phillips

Re: So let's cast a few more characters!

You're right. Now we only need a role for Megan Fox.
Hippie Girl #2 (the one with no lines) in the inevitable reimagining of "The Way to Eden". Could probably be done as a subplot or in flashbacks.
Right episode, but I was thinking: the exploding rock that kills the redshirt. It requires neither lines nor an IQ, the perfect role for Megan Fox.

Anna Torv is great. I'd cast her.

Re: So let's cast a few more characters!

I'd never seen Fringe until after Star Trek (2009) and now I'm madly in love with it.

Re: So let's cast a few more characters!

I love Fringe. It's cool, geeky, and it's got lens flare!

Seriously though, it's one of my favourite shows.

Re: So let's cast a few more characters!

I'd have Bell as Rand rather than Chapel, actually.
You want Rand to quite probably have more chemistry with Spock than Kirk?

What did I post here?:vulcan:

Rand was intended to be older, perhaps the same age as Kirk, and was meant to be a confidant for Spock. And remember, Grace Lee Whitney is actually older than Shatner is. Thus, a better choice for Rand would be Emily Procter (she's a little old, actually), or Ali Larter.

Re: So let's cast a few more characters!

I dunno. I'd be up for Megan Fox Rock scene though.

Seriously?

William Shatner: Kirk (Atleast a Cameo, COME ON GUYS! HE'S CAPTAIN KIRK)

Leonard Nimoy: Spock (He's my only tie to TOS, and possibly the only thing keeping me watching NuTrek Movies)

Anna Torv: Christine Chapel

Jennifer Garner: Yeoman Rand

Micheal Dorn: *Klingon Baddy Name Here*

Re: So let's cast a few more characters!

Finnegan - Dylan Moran. Give him a dark and moody side, but a real Irish mischeif to the character. Also give him a chance to bounce off his mate, Simon Pegg. Oh, how great could that be.

Gary Mitchell - Rob Lowe. Adds a mature, older brother quality to the best mate at the academy. Although kinda replaced by McCoy in JJ Trek, i think Rob Lowe has the acting callibre to pull it off, and on screen charisma. So what if hes way older than Pine, thats what makeup un acting is all about.

Re: So let's cast a few more characters!

The problem being that Kirk and Mitchell became acquainted when Kirk was teaching a course young neophyte cadet Mitchell was taking as a first year.

Re: So let's cast a few more characters!

That's why I went with Mike Erwin for my Gary Mitchell--he and Chris Pine are of an age, and with the revised timeline, they'd have been more likely to be classmates than student/mentor. I actually really love Kirk and McCoy meeting in the shuttle for the first time, and McCoy being Kirk's best friend, in the new timeline. It just opens the door for so much story than the two of them meeting later in life in Starfleet. Same with Spock and Uhura meeting at the Academy, instead of when she's assigned to Enterprise in 2264 or whatever the actual date would have been. It's all about how circumstances changing forges new/different relationships.

Re: So let's cast a few more characters!

Ah... the possibilities! :p

CAROL MARCUS - Keri Russell (works with JJ frequently.)

KHAN NOONIEN SINGH - Javier Bardem ('cuz he was just badass in No Country for Old Men.)

MARA (Kang's wife from "Day of the Dove") - Jewel Staite. I know that's kind of an obscure character, but I just noticed a rather striking similarity...

ENTERPRISE COMPUTER - Susan Gibney (Leah Brahms from TNG "Booby Trap" and "Galaxy's Child". She's got a similar vocal quality to Majel Barrett and she handled the tech dialog very well in TNG.)

Oh, also -
GEORGE SAMUEL KIRK, JR. - Michael Weatherly. Is it just me, or do I see an uncanny family resemblance with Chris Pine?

Black is all wrong for Mudd. Seth Rogen would be better.

Re: So let's cast a few more characters!

Why what would be wrong with Jack Black playing a role in a sequel to Star Trek XI?
