State-run health care

Let's cool it with the name calling, please, everyone.

As for the people who pretend to speak for the Founding Fathers:

The Founding Fathers said:
We the People of the United States, in Order to... promote the general Welfare... do ordain and establish this Constitution for the United States of America.
All conservative groups, both Right Wing and Left Wing, are at odds with American Values. The Founding Fathers were liberal men who created a liberal country based on liberal Enlightenment beliefs. Actual History books are a better source of information than Talk Radio.

Why is this even argument? The Republican propaganda machine is well oiled and they have a large minority of dupes to mobilize to spread disinformation about UHC, which is pretty much universal in the industrialized world.

Young people in the next few years will not afford health insurance after the employment drys up past 20%, the Baby Boomers are not getting any younger, and Neoliberalism has begun its well deserved death rattle last year, so private healthcare with not last that long.

I'm getting blue cross health insurance next year.

Should I be more worried about this?

No. If you can afford it, Blue Cross is perfectly fine.

I had blue cross health insurance for a while. But my estranged mother decided to butting in to end it without my knowledge. :wtf:

Now I'm seeking to renew my blue cross health insurance here in North Carolina. Fingers crossed here!
She butted in? Wasn't she paying for it?

No. She wasn't supposed to touch it.

My grandfather paying for it.

All conservative groups, both Right Wing and Left Wing

Eh?
All ideologies are conservative, pretty much by definition. The word "liberal" may have become associated with the Left Wing as political rhetoric, but it's far from the truth. Liberal means being open-minded and able to evolve and adapt to change and new information. Conservative means being unable or unwilling to change. Liberal thinking is at odds with politics; conservative thinking is the norm.

Actually the term "liberal" has changed its meaning many times in history, and I'm not sure the way Americans understand "liberal" is the same as elsewhere in the world (where I'm from it's more similar to what Americans think of as "libertarian" for example).

That's why I stick to English language definitions. I don't do political speak. :D

I truly believe that we are on the right path, and hopefully we'll have a true, "robust" public health care option that may very well lead to a true single-payer system some time in the not too distant future.

Which Americans are against 2-1.

Basis for this so called fact?

There you go buddy.

"Sixty-three percent (63%) of voters nationwide say guaranteeing that no one is forced to change their health insurance coverage is a higher priority than giving consumers the choice of a "public option" health insurance company."

That doesn't mean Americans are 2-1 against a public option. I suggest reading your own information a little more closely before making claims like that.

You mean like this?

Source. The article goes on to analyze each poll (a couple of which are biased), but overall is good evidence that most Americans support a public option.

See, I can do numbers too, except I don't pull them out of thin air.

Has anyone told you lately that you are awesome? :D :techman:

Plus, that's Rasmussen, the right-wing outlier of American polling.

Marian
Since they poll registered, likely voters and not simply Joe Blow off the street their polls do reflect the conservative nature of the country. Of course that's only meaningful if the subject discussed is political in nature.
