From the beginning, the media has misunderstood the medical community's concern about this virus. It's not especially fatal; but it does behave in some unusual ways, *and* it jumped species, *and* it's extremely contagious. These three things do not make epidemiologists happy-happy.
I've not forgiven the newspapers for printing the story of the first confirmed case in the UK under the headline "KILLER IT IS!!!", only for the story to then say that the individual in question was perfectly fine and making a full recovery.
