Tea Recommendations?

^I usually use two bags for the first mug, and then add a third if I have seconds, and let it brew until it's very dark. I just love strong flavors. And when I get chai lattes at Starbucks I'm that annoying girl who orders soy milk, no water, and 6 pumps of chai (as opposed to the 3 pumps they normally add).

You reuse your bags...
Life on a budget...what're you gonna do?

Some compromises are just not worth it. I'll go without something else. I'm a very picky person, especially about my drinks of choice, Tea and Lemonade. If it isn't just right, I will not drink it.

I'm trying my first herbal tea. I went with the mint flavored, since I liked the mint flavored black tea. It's pretty good.

Also, has anyone tried the brand Red Rose Tea?

If you end up liking herbal teas Kelso, try some by Celestial Seasonings. Al though I much prefer normal, black tea (Plantation Mint being one of my favorites), I have found some of the flavors to be quite soothing. They have an excellent before bed tea called Sleepy-time extra, which I've found can really help relax me before bed. Tension Tamer is also a good blend. Both are have baseline citrus flavors (not too strong though) with either another fruit, or mint as secondary flavors. I still use creamer in my herbal teas though, because I like the added flavor (just be sure to use non-dairy!), and it often helps cool the tea down a bit.

I like tea a lot... I vary between what kind I want and how I take it.

Lady grey is nice. As is blackcurrant or Lemon also.. Those kinds I take with a little sugar and milk.

Greenteas I drink as they are.

My mom is friends with the co-owner of Teany (Moby's ex girlfriend, they own the company together). She sends my mom samples of new teas she's imported and blends she's trying. My mom has a huge drawer in her kitchen devoted to tea. I can't wait to visit her for Christmas; every afternoon she makes a different tea for me.

I'm so jealous.:(

Actually, my mother just gave me a few 'Celestial Seasonings' packages to try out. I tried the raspberry last night and I'm trying the black cherry tonight.

What type of creamer do you use?

Hi Kelso,

I too grew up in the deep South, and I have a jug of sugary iced tea in my refrigerator even now. (Trying to break a soda habit by drinking sweet tea instead. Not much better, eh? At least I'm losing the carbonation...) I am so used to drinking sweetened tea that I found hot tea strange and unpleasant at first. That being said, my favorite is Chai tea, which I've seen others mention in the thread. It's spicy, sweet, and reminds me of Christmas.

However, I only really like it when I buy it made at a coffee shop, not at home. I do like The Republic of Tea Ginger Peach. I'd say that's my favorite teabag to steep in a cup of hot water. I can drink it either with a little sugar or honey (not both). Since you're used to sweeter tea, you may also enjoy this flavor.

Any non-dairy creamer will do, but I find International Delight to be the best. Comes in a ton of different flavors...just have to buy the flavor that you think will go the best with the type of tea you're drinking (Vanilla is fairly mild, and works with almost everything, while the seasonal stuff like Pumpkin Spice is a nice way to zing up your beverages on occasion).
