Tea Recommendations?

As I said before, skim is best, but 1% will do in a pinch.

Oh, is 2% not good with tea?

I tried the Green Tea last night and the "Black Tea with rind of oranges and sweet spice" this morning.

The Green Tea was a little "plant-y" for my taste (perhaps I just need to get used to it?) but it was much better than the one I tried this morning (which I did not care for, at all).

I have lately been blending vanilla infused rooibos and black tea... made with the use of a strainer which sits snugly on top of my cup... sweetened at the end with a little acacia honey - absolutely spectacular taste. Wonderful health benefits, too - rooibos contains 50 times times the antioxidants of green tea.

I do think you should go to the trouble of loose tea, a little more fiddly in the making, but the resulting taste is vastly superior.

In my opinion, the milk taste overpowers the tea taste with 2% and higher. It makes for a different flavor---not necessarily bad, but I'm not a huge fan.

I see. I'll give it a shot and see if I like it.

Hey, I'm still on the beginner level. :)

Tonight I tried "Plantation Mint" (Black tea with spearmint)... and that was damned tasty! This might be my favorite flavor yet. Is it common to put spearmint in Black Tea?

^I took that flavor to school this morning in a travel mug. Excellent way to start the day. This thread has rekindled my interest in tea...:D

Well, right now i'm drinking a cup of green tea with milk and sugar...
Earlier tonight i had some Gold Tea from Lipton...
Some of my favourite taste are tea with lemon, with mint or with cinnamon...
I also like tea with some fruit added to it, like strawberries...

Smoked salmon medallions topped with caviar and a delicious glass of Veuve Clicquot, followed by little hand made French Fancies... oh tea not tea. Soz

Earl Grey every time.

This morning I tried the "Lemon lift"(black tea with lemon and spice). As Garak might say, "It's vile!" or Data, "I hate this! It is revolting!"

Yeah, I didn't like it at all.

 interesting response as both Garak and Data ended up liking the drinks they said that about.

I like drinking milk tea by boiling the loose tea leaves in milk and then adding honey and sometimes ginger if I feel sick.

Just to let you know, I bought some vanilla extract recently and tried adding it to my green tea. I found it okay; I've tried it a few times now, but I think it's more suited to sipping than gulping to get the full aroma. I'm more of a tea gulper. :p But I will continue with it.

Hey. My adventures with vanilla have been ongoing... After trying many different extracts and syrups, I have found the vanilla flavour is actually fuller in pre-infused loose tea... Whittards does a very good vanilla infused rooibos along with a vanilla infused black tea... I then blend them myself, and the outcome is far better and the vanilla more authentic tasting than adding a liquid vanilla extract. Plus, I didn't very much like the high alcohol content in vanilla extracts. All in all, I have found the answer at last to my vanilla in tea problem and am busy drinking gallons a day. :rommie:

And I'm a gulper, too. Especially while it's still boiling. :shifty:

Right now I am enjoying Irish Breakfast Tea (decaf due to the evening hour), two teabags in one cup, as per my norm (I like it STRONG), a bit of soy milk, and a bit of agave nectar. YUM. I love Autumn -- perfect tea weather.

What's the strongest you drink your tea at? I went through a phase when I was using three bags per mug of tea. That was back when I was drinking the Tentley Tea's British blend (recommended by the way if you haven't had it), but that was back at the old job when I was practically mainlining caffeine to stay awake. Working 6 days a week, averaging 10 hours per day my tea was a thankless supporter.

^I usually use two bags for the first mug, and then add a third if I have seconds, and let it brew until it's very dark. I just love strong flavors. And when I get chai lattes at Starbucks I'm that annoying girl who orders soy milk, no water, and 6 pumps of chai (as opposed to the 3 pumps they normally add).

You reuse your bags... I'm not a fan of that, second round is always too weak. It's one of the reasons I love the press pot and loose leaf method which is my current primary method to make tea. I've been getting my earl grey as dark as black coffee sometimes. Mmmmm.

Life on a budget...what're you gonna do?
