What's the nearest body of water to you?

Florida Bay is a hundred meters away so it's the closest. The Atlantic Ocean is second at about a mile distant.

The mighty river Scheldt. :)

The St. Croix River, which forms the upper part of the Wisconsin-Minnesota border. It's great to live right on the river, but I pay for it with outrageous property taxes.

Quincy Bay, which is part of Massachusetts Bay, which is part of the Atlantic Ocean. It's about a five-minute drive from my house. It looks like this:

Or sometimes like this:

Since we're into pictures now, here're my two closest bodies of water. First, the Ottawa River:

And, a couple blocks from home, the Rideau Canal, in its more solid state:

My house is somewhere in that yellow circle - between a couple ponds

and the Atlantic is only 2 miles to the east.

The largest major body of water is probably the Susquehanna River, but there's the Juniata River and Raystown Lake - not sure they're big enough to qualify?

If my little stream qualifies yours would have to be a wet ditch and a dip in a lawn not to :rommie:
