What's Your Favorite BEER?

Oh, and while we're on the subject of beer, I have a question: I've had some bottles of Canadian in my fridge since... probably April. Would they still be okay to drink? I'm going to a party on Friday, and I'd like to finally get rid of them.

Well, what does it say on the label? Usually, you can drink beer even after its expiration date but often the taste will suffer, depending onwhat beer it is and how long ago it was supposed to have been drunk. I once drank beer that was 6 months over its expiration date and it was still drinkable. It didn't taste that well anymore, though (it was a lager and I think they should be drunk when still relatively fesh). But I drank it mixed with strawberry yoghurt, anyway (don't ask, long and boring story ;)).

But that's not good. ;) (And not that pricey, either, but I suppose it might be more expensive in the UK.)

Well, he said he only drinks it when he's wasted already anyway, so "good" might be relative anyway in that respect. ;)

I agree about Augustiner though.

Hoegaarden is... pretty nice, for the summers. I tend to sniff around for beers a lot, right now the top three consists out of Iki (a japanese beer with green tea), Barbâr (with huney and corriander) and Maredsous (a blonde beer with a very fine taste). I'm the kind of guy that likes to drink beer once in a while instead of working my way through as many as possible in the shortest amount of time ;)

Although consigned to Bud Light and Natty Lite due to finances, when the money is there I like a Delirium Tremens or possibly a Moose Drool. In the summer its Shock Top amber ale(actually a wheat), Dos Equis Amber, a Corona once in a while. I'm also fond of Pilsner Urquell and Pacifico. If I feel like something heavy I might pick up a Belhaven Scottish ale or a Road Kill. On pg 1 an Az native mentioned Kiltlifter-is the 7th st Brewery still in business? I haven't had a Kiltlifter in 7 years. Ditto 4 Peaks. Miss them both, more than my old friends. LOL.

It actually didn't say anything on the label -- there was no expiration date listed. I tend to doubt that this means it'll never go bad, hence my asking. ;)

Most beers don't list an expiration date. They list a "brewed on" date or a "bottled" date.

I'm not seeing any sort of date whatsoever listed on them (unless I'm just missing it).

Eh... I'm just gonna bring 'em to the party and hope for the best. As long as they still get me drunk, their freshness will probably become an unimportant detail soon enough. ;)

Crown Lager
Toohey's Extra Dry
Toohey's New
Carlton Draught
Melbourne Bitter

Can't stand Fosters or VB (Victoria Bitter)

I have a six-pack of Three Stooges beer that I bought a few years ago just because I thought it was hilarious. I never drank it. I wonder what it would be like now. :rommie:

I don't mind a really strong, dark(expensive) beer now and then, but as far as casual drinking goes, I usually stick with bud light(in the bottle, not the can.). It's light, crisp and refreshing, one step away from carbonated water, basically.

As far as "good" beers go, I bought a six-pack of this stuff called "Old Rasputin" that was so dark it looked like iodine. It also had an 11% alcohol content. It was a nice winding-down-after-work beer, but I couldn't envision myself popping one open on a hot summer day and guzzling it down after mowing the lawn.

Sometimes I pick up a 40 oz of Old English just for the hell of it. Then I pour some out for my dead homies. Lol

If you want a beer for a hot, summer day, I recommend either Hogaarten or Boulevard Zon. Normally, beer sold in green bottles should be shunned (as it tends to get skunky); however, I have to admit that Rolling Rock not bad considering it's a "cheap" beer.

You're right about that. I won't buy beer in green or clear bottles unless I know that it's just been put on the shelf. I don't understand why all bottled beer isn't sold in brown bottles. I mean who cares what the package looks like if the beer tastes like garbage?

Well, most people don't know or even care. If they didn't they wouldn't be drinking such swill like Corona, Miller, PBR, Busch, Budweiser........ad nauseum.

Good beer is meant to be chewed. Case closed.

If they are bad you'll notice, trust me. However, if one is bad don't dump the lot. Rinse your mouth out and try the next. But don't ever drink bad beer-it will give you cramps as bad as sour milk. Trust me-I know.:shifty:
