How Many Copies Do You Expect Star Trek Will Sell? (DVD/Blu-ray)

How many copies do you expect it well sell?

Just for a frame of reference, Transformers 2 sold around 3.6 million DVDs and 1.2 million BDs in its first week.

I heard 7.5 Million overall?

Yeah, you're right. I'm confused by the following then:

According to Nielsen VideoScan First Alert, 'Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen' got 26% of its sales from the BD edition

EDIT: Never mind. I think the article I read meant that 26% of first-day sales were from BD, which is correct (1.5 million DVD, 0.5 million BD).

For some reason, 9 - 10 million sticks out in my mind as the eventual sales total. I get the feeling it'll do better than some feel it will and be the surprise blockbuster DVD of the entire holiday shopping season if not the #1 for the entire year(which it won't be, but it'll do admirably).

Bought my copy of XI on Friday, so my count towards the total is in!

There isn't a J Lo picture coming out on the same release date. The film should do fine on DVD! :)

I'm hoping in the 15 million range, but I don't know. Actually, I'm hoping greater than that. Much greater.

J.

Also going to 15 million or more. I brought my copy on Thursday. Watched it 5 times so far. Yet to watch it today.

Even Nemesis sold 2 million+ copies on DVD. I think combined disc sales will add up to 6-7 million for ST.

According to what someone at a local Wal*Mart told me last night, they'll be selling the DVD for $19.96 and the BluRay for $29.96...at least in my area. And on opening day some stores(not all)will have a special reduced price of just $14.96 for the standard DVD.

The BD will be $19.96 at Walmart.

Really? They said ten bucks more. But its still almost three weeks before it comes out so maybe the guy in the electronics section got his numbers mixed up.

Yup, G.I. Joe had the third highest first week sales of the year behind Transformers 2 and Twilight.
