A very nice model and animation, but the ship's design is really ugly- not exactly Eaves' best...
A nitpick: the running lights' strobe rate does not seem to change when the whole scene slows down.

It's not an Eaves design.
Sure, but what did you think of the animation, sojourner?

Nice work! Looks awesome.![]()
Excellent of course! Surprised you didn't have the nacelles swing out and go to warp.
On an unrelated note, whatever happened to that project you are doing with Eaves?
Thanks, guys!

I did a version slowing the lights as well. but I found it to be overall more dynamic without slowing them. Personal choice as far as aestethics go on my part.

I second that!!!
What technique/plugin did you use for the starfield effect?
Does "Hyperspace" also provide the general starfield? Thanks, guys!

Oh, I forgot to comment on sojourner's comment, eh. Beg pardon.
Ya know, I just don't like the look of the ship with the nacelles fully raised, thus I keep them at "half-mast." Also, the clip is actually just re-purposed from a new scene I created for my demo-reel, to show the model off itself (thus the roll), and is so quick really, I didn't want to "busy it up" too much with nacelle(s) deployment. Plus, like I said, I prefer the ship with the nacelles in this config.

That is an excellent, yet sadly now defunct, plugin for LightWave called, Hyperspace.

It's not defunct as long as my six-year-old LightWave dongle doesn't give out!! Seriously, Newtek really needs to rethink their copy protection mechanism. The idea that your plugins could suddenly become inert bits of software flotsam if a USB dongle suddenly were lost or damaged... is frickin' nuts. What technique/plugin did you use for the starfield effect?

One thing I've been struggling with is finding a practical way to do a reasonable starfield effect... with, or without, "streaky stars"...
