Air ok, Power ok, what about water?

Crewman47

Commodore
Newbie
Okay so in the first 5 episodes the ship has managed to fix the Life Support and recharge the batteries, didn't they mention that the water supply was less than half full or something as well. How do you suppose they'll resupply on water?

"Water" is the title of the next episode

Description from Gateworld:

Severe rationing can't save the Destiny's dwindling water supply, forcing Colonel Young and Lieutenant Scott to seek out drinkable water on a deadly ice planet.

That sounds pretty... cool.

I'm here till Friday, enjoy the veal.

In all seriousness, it opens up a nice possibility for a more action-oriented episode. Hopefully with a bit more forethought on the characters' part than Air's 'here's a whole planet and we have a flying camera, so lets set off in a single group and hope we run across lime' ;)

It'll be nice to get off the ship and find some water. It's awfully nice that the male characters get to keep shaving even though there's a water shortage, too. But I suppose a nice box of handy electric razors was in the 'critical' supplies they brought over with them.

I know, I know...pick, pick, pick.

I just hope it's an action packed episode, and not Young and Scott, stranded on the ice planet with one of them injured not being able to move, talking about their past and how 'they should be here' for 40 minutes zzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

Not much of a nitpick. Women love clean shaven men. Thus the vast majority of men either have an electrical shaver or manual shaver at hand.

What, in the random supplies they through together in a matter of minutes, some of which didn't even make it through the Gate? The men are clean-shaven for the same reason the woman are all thin and fit. And, I'll give you a hint, it's not a story reason.

Come on ice aliens! Yeah, I know they're trying to move away from that, but they need more than natural disasters and limited resources to drive plots for the rest of season.

I thought they mentioned in the first episode that there was a supply of water to be rationed?

So.. after "Water" the next will be "Food"? And then "Clothing", "Entertainment", "Sex"? ;):)

I get that they are trying for a halfway "realistic" approach but the deus ex machina.. er Destiny.. is starting to wear a little bit thin. If the ship pulls their ass out of the fire everytime it will get boring.

I'll give them a couple more episodes before i really start complaining because thus far i like it.

So far it hasn't really done anything too "magical", it's just that the programming was more self-sufficient than they originally gave it credit for. So long as it's simply a case of the Ancient software engineers actually being good at their jobs, I don't have a problem with the ship.

Is one of the crew gonna blow up a water tank, wake up soaked, and then have no idea what happened? That would be neat.

I'm enjoying the fact that they have to search for things they need.

I think this is a lot like Lost Season 1. In both cases, they spend the first season taking baby steps, growing the characters and pieces of the plot around them before slamming it into full gear.

The spoilers have said that there's an unwanted guest on the ship that's leeching their water supply. That's the reason why it is depleted more rapidly than expected.
