Cloverfield II

I have been a huge fan of monster movies since I was a kid and I really loved Cloverfield, although they could have shown the monster a little more, so I would really love to see a sequel (filmed more conventionally) but I just do not feel hopeful.

Anyone else want a sequel?

Dieing for this sequel, don't expect it for at least the next 3 years, if even.

I loved Cloverfield, but I really don't want to see a sequel at all. I was very satisfied with how it ended.

It doesn't really seem like a movie that needed a sequel. It was a pretty conventional monster movie, it was just the cinematic style that made it seem fresh and interesting.

I really enjoyed it, but I don't see how a sequel would improve on it, you know?

I feel like any attempt to copy the style would seem redundant, and filming it in a different style would disconnect it too much from the original to seem like an honest sequel. I just don't think it would work.

I think they could find a way to make it work. It would depend on the story. I don't think it would be good to film it with type of shaky cam that was done in the original.

I'll be the party pooper and say that my wife and I thought it was an awful movie. The characters were completely unlikeable and I didn't care if they lived or died. So if a sequel were made I doubt I'd be interested in seeing it.

I'd like to see a movie thats a sequal/prequal. Set it from the point of view of the other camera guy (from the bridge scene) starting with his investigations into this origins/rumors of this monster, delivered uncover journalist/monologue style possibly in Japan and his following it to New York, then a brief recount of the New York scenes (including the bridge) from his point of view, then his escape from new-york and the post credits fate of the monster, possibly bring the mother (of the monster) into play.

My thoughts exactly.

Eh, I didn't go see it for the characters. I went for a rollercoaster ride, and that's what I got. :)

Qft. I didn't pick this up for the characters. I just thought it was a pretty neet idea for a movie.

I'm up for a sequel if they do something interesting. A documentary style film would be great. Kinda like World War Z.

Though I fear we'll end up with something closer to Blair Witch Project 2. :p

Wishing for a more conventionally-filmed Cloverfield sequel is like wishing for a sequel to Who Framed Roger Rabbit without the cartoon characters.
