Is Revenge of the Fallen a good blind buy?

[What's the status on TF3, by the way? Are there plans to make one?

Part three was scheduled for 2011 but Michael Bay wants a break from Transformers, so either he forgets about a break and does it or they find someone else.

The writers joked about including Unicron in the third film, just to up the stakes even more. Although they could have been telling the truth.

If you aren't looking for much story but more special effects than you can shake a stick at (including some amazing robot sequences) than this is a safe buy. The story meanders way too much and there's some downright idiotic humor in it, but there are definitely bright spots.

TF3 is due in 2011: https://michaelbay.com/newsblog/newsblog.html

I enjoyed it so much because of how bad it was. After seeing it, I just remember laughing a lot about how ridiculous some of the scenes were.

So I'd definitely watch it, but be prepared to judge the hell out of it. In fact, it might make an awesome drinking game.

Oh, heck yeah. My friends warned me away from it like the plague, but once I actually watched it, it was so over-the-top that it made a full circle and became good again. I mean, Sam goes to robot heaven and sees transformer angels? Damn. Definitely one of my top "guilty pleasure" movies.

John Turturro makes this movie. He is so over the top that I can't help but have a good time.

I heard Devastator took up 83% of ILM's entire render farm capacity.

Oh and please bare in mind this thread is about a blind buy, so please watch your spoilers.

Ok.. this is WEIRD!

I got the movie at Wal-Mart. I got the two disk edition, called the "Big Screen" edition.
Turns out the Wal-Mart version is actually the IMAX version, so when a big fight came, I was surprised when my ratio suddenly changed during the forest scene

Devastator actually caused on ILM machine to MELT!!!!

i loved it. but, TBH, yes, there's too many hi-and-die characters, the ones who get names are barely developed. the twins are in it way too much and some of the humor's juvenile. but i still loved it.

GI Joe was better though.

What is there to spoil about this movie? The sex scene between Megan Fox and Bumblebee? The appearance of Voltron and the SDF-1? The references that make the story exist in the same universe as both Indiana Jones and Beverly Hills Cop?

If you HAVE to see it, wait for it on tv. Get it through other means. But I cannot stress enough how much you really don't wanna be spending any money whatsoever on this floater!

You sir have ruined my day. Surprising though how I never saw any mention of this on the trailer.

What is SDF-1?

I am a Transformers fan and because of that I was able to forgive the lack of thought in the film and had a good time watching it, so if you like the Transformers than you must get it because you will enjoy it. If you can watch it on a big screen too that is where it is at its best.

This guy sums it up pretty well:
