Star Trek 25th anniversary

^^
Sequel? Gimme gimme gimme! :scream:

Star Trek: Judgement Rites

It's slightly harder to find, but not too bad (if you're going for a legitimate version). Prices on ebay can vary extremely widely, though.

Both games are pretty highly pirated as well.. which I hate to recommend, but no one really seems to know where the rights to either game currently are held.

Secret of Vulcan Fury was, sadly, killed because Interplay gambled badly on the 'voxel' engine. The idea was to push the 'voxel' 3-D engine as a standard, and it didn't catch on. Acellerator cards already made the voxel engine not-worthwhile to pursue and the projects using them were nixed as a 'waste'.

Yeah, the last time I remember seeing them widely available is when they were being sold together with the Starfleet Academy demo. I guess that was back in 1997 or so.

These games would also be a cool Fan Remake project, since Interplay or whoever it is these days has no clue of what to do with it.

Not 3-D, except for the starship battles. Keep it as is, just update the graphics to 32-bit color and high resolution. I love those games, but the 320x200 is just a bit too retro.

*sigh*, the days when 640x480 was high-rez. :)

My siblings and I discovered the 25th Anniversary CD rom in a box of old games in our garage a couple of months ago, and OMG we are so glad we did! We have played MANY Trek games over the years, and none have come as close to capturing the true spirit of Trek and the actual feel of an episode as this game. Even if it did take us a while to get running as we needed to get DOSbox first :P

We haven't actually finished it... but of the few missions we did play, I know this game is absolutely fantastic! We have TNG: Final Unity as well, though we couldn't get it running... :P

^^^^You said it bud, the reason i got a PC in the first place(1993) was simply to play Star trek 25th anniversary which had just been released about a year before.

I just replayed 25th and JR this weekend... unbelievable... to this day. After I played them I was on my PS3 playing Uncharted 2.. and honestly, I was more addicted to the adventure games on DOS box. Today's games are fun, don't get me wrong, but the run and gun, blow it all up and ask questions later attitude isn't as good as a good problem solving, leave-it-up-to-the-imagination game of the 90's. I miss these games and REALLY hope that someone comes out with something AS GOOD if not better than what these games had to offer... and hopefully without the rampant violence and arrogance of what game developers seem to think is necessary these days.

By the way, don't get me wrong - I love GTA and God of War and all those kind of games... just miss the mental stimulation I used to get from a good adventure game. Oh, and if you're really into those kind of games (and games like Sierra and Lucasarts used to do back in the day) check out Ben There, Dan That! and Time Gentlemen, Please! on Steam. Both games are top notch indie Adventure games created in the spirit of the classics and I'm pretty sure you can get them for about $5. A great investment in a dying (and hopefully not dormant) genre.

I had this game on 5 1/4"s, IIRC. 4 or 5 of them I think.

Judgment Rites was 3 1/2"s...up into the teens in terms of number of disks I think.

And oh yeah...in 25th Anniversary if you turn up the brightness on your monitor you can see the cloaked ships. :)
