Puggerfest

This is a yearly event here in Oklahoma city to raise money for a local rescue. People travel from all over the country with their pugs. They cook out, have silent auctions, contests, etc. It was lots of fun. The dogs love it. And before anyone starts griping about dogs wearing costumes and sweaters, just get over it.

My two girls had lots of fun:

This one(below) was ready for a nap after a couple hours, though. I took her home early while my wife stayed with the other one.

She did make lots of people friends, though. She sat on a lot of laps.

I was at the Tulsa VW show last September and someone in the space next to mine had a pug hiding under his truck for shade. That dog sounded like a gorilla with asthma. I admire you people who can tolerate a problematic breed like Pugs. I was thinking of adopting one once, but it seems like almost half of Pugs in rescues are one-eyed.

One-eyed pugs need love too! And yeah, they do get overheated easily. They need air conditioning.
