Cast the Characters of Trek Literature

I also put together my own cast lists for each series (oh crap, I never did NF) with pictures of the chosen actor. Most of them are a combination of the authors choices, my choices, and the popular choices. I think I posted a couple of them here, but they never got much of a reaction. If anyone is interested I will gladly repost them, though.

Other ideas
1 Melena Kanakaredes (D,S, Stella Bonasera in C S I New York) as Kat Muller.
2 Daryl Hanna as Commander Desma

For the last few years i've pictured Charlize Theron as Mueller. I'd also say Portia de Rossi if she actually had some meat on her bones...

^ "Benjamin, just bite down on my toe to distract me from the pain."

"I am not biting down on your toe, Elias!"

I can't not see Vaughn as being Sean Connery c. Hunt for Red October, it's always Connery's voice I hear when I read Vaughn.

Same way I always saw Sharleen Spiteri (c. 1996) of Texas as Soleta for years until Charlies Angels came along whereupon Soleta became Lucy Lui.

I came up with this one last night what about Zoey Bell from Death Proof as Kat Muller.

So was Hugh Cambridge based on Hugh Laurie? He seems the obvious casting choice to me. Keeping his original British accent, of course.

Sorry if this one's been done, but as CLB pointed out, there's over 1500 posts here...

Well, I just finished reading the first Vanguard book. So...

Diego Reyes: Esai Morales

Ezekial Fischer: Bill Cobbs

Cervantes Quinn: Jeff Fahey

Tim Pennington: Kevin McKidd

Anna Sandesjo: Rekha Sharma

Ming Xiong: Charles Chun

Ganz: Michael Clark Duncan

Also, for me, the quintessential Elias Vaughn would be Christopher Lee. Though, that has probably been mentioned by others in the 70+ pages of this thread that I didn't read. ;)

Um, no.

Ezekial Fischer: Bill Cobbs
Okay, sure.

Cervantes Quinn: Jeff Fahey
Not quite.

Tim Pennington: Kevin McKidd
Not seeing this, either.

Anna Sandesjo: Rekha Sharma
Hell, no. Complete mismatch with the character description. A cinnamon-haired caucasian woman with a Scandinavian name, and you want to cast a woman from India? Seriously?

Ming Xiong: Charles Chun
Again ... no.

Ganz: Michael Clark Duncan
All right, sure. I can see that.

Diego Reyes: Esai Morales
Um, no.

Yeah, Morales is probably not old/graying/hairline-receding enough to fit the book's Reyes... but I like him. :)

Oops... that was supposed to be Rana Desai. Though, I pictured Desai as an older Sharma with a shorter haircut. I'd imagine that Rekha Sharma is not what you had in mind while writing Desai... but I find the image of her in a starfleet uniform pleasing enough not to care. ;)

Deepika Padukone would also do quite well. :techman:

^Sharma is who Dave has suggested for Jasminder Choudhury over in TNG, though I don't share his opinion there.

Google tells me that Choudhury is a character from the TNG relaunch and Destiny trilogy. I haven't gotten that far, but I now have another reason to anticipate those series, thank you.

When reading about Captain Eden, the first actress that came to my mind was Viola Davis. But when her age was mentioned, I thought of Angela Bassett. Though when I saw Gina Torres on Flash Forward, I thought she would make a nice Eden as well.

As for Batiste, though he doesn't fit the description at all, an image of Delroy Lindo popped into my head and stayed there.

For Gwyn, I see Alaina Huffman (Medic from Stargate Universe)

I also saw Hugh Laurie for Cambridge.
