It's nearly a decade late, but Planetary 27

It's not a decade late. Just three years.

I'm hoping for a reprint of Absolute Planetary Volume 1 when DC/Wildstorm does the second volume to finish the set.

I count all the delays.

It does not take 10 years to make 27 issues (I don't count the specials.).

So it's 8 years late, which I called "almost" a decade.

Hells, Authority Volume 1 number one came out on the same day as Planetary #1, and volume FIVE issue 14 of that bastard grandchild of something that used to be good came out last week.

I am literally examining my memories to chart the rise and fall of comic shops that have been built up, raised and sacked by the economy since the beginning of this story... the latest I expected to see issue 27 would have been about sometime during 2001.

That being said.

Nice read, but the entire story really lost the plot after about 1ssue 16 which came out in 2005ish... Tarzans daughter? Sheesh.

I was actually thinking of planetary fondly last night as i watched Sanctuary season one on my dvd player, thinking of the similarities, and then I wondered about warehouse 13 being the same thing spliced with baby laxative and how Alan's next volume of the league of extraordinary gentlemen might be stepping on toes.

I see a Planetary influence in Torchwood.

and how Alan's next volume of the league of extraordinary gentlemen might be stepping on toes.
The only difference is that Ellis obscures his names, while Moore doesn't care. :)

The thing that occurred to me the other day -- does Planetary even exist in the rebooted Wildstorm universe? Or is issue #27 the last gasp of the original universe?

Wow.. And this was a perfect reason why I wait for the trade.

Can't wait to the Absolute editions come out.
