Iron Man/Pyro firepower brought to reality!

If you browse his other vids, he has a version 3 coming out for Halloween, nicknamed Prometheus. I like the cut of this fellow's jib. :D

One day that kid is going to toast himself good and I hope there will be camera around to film it.

I mean it's pretty damn cool, until you realize you have fuel and a lighter strapped securely to your wrists. One little spark and that guy is going to go from Pyro to the Human Torch.

That guy is an accident waiting to happen. I think the title of this thread is just a little hyperbolic too.

The least he could do if he's going to continue this is have a friend standing by with a fire extinguisher...

Other than the safety issues, that's a cool thing he's created

That really does look like a Mythbusters project. I think he said he was wearing it for Halloween?

The kid needs a "spotter", I agree. Frankly, I found R.O.A.C.H. a lot more amusing. particularly the commentary below the article. The strawberries were too salty? Someone needs to work on his genetic engineering!

Using a handgun is pretty cool, until you realize that you have hard metal pellets and a dangerous chunk of gunpowder in your hand. One mishap and you become Rick Allen.

Care to lay on some more wise teachings, o' munificent one?

The only thing I'd be weary of is the force of the propellant (too low and you burn your fingers if you try to use it horizontally) and obviously having a spotter. I imagine that he has an extinguisher nearby already, but four eyes are always better than two.

I wonder if he'll be able to get some serious visual effects or entertainment patents and jobs with this stuff. The fact that he built a palm-mounted flamethrower isn't really that spectacular, but he seems to have created something with an incredible degree of control and simplicity.

Lighter and fuel not such a big deal in and of themselves. Likewise a gun being stored responsibly. Strap the lighter and fuel to your wrist to make a flamethrower or setting down your loaded gun right next to your camp fire is my definition of asking for trouble.

But wrist activated flamethrowers might just be worth the trouble.

The guy needs a fire resistant suit. He seems to have very little concern for the car he is standing around when he lights up. The thing is so cool though.
