Post your Desktop - Winter 08-09

It's not narrower, it's different.

Not saying you can't share your pictures, I couldn't care less one way or the other - but just because you like them doesn't mean everyone has to, and people are allowed to find them odd.

I'm sure people here would find it odd that I have a growing collection of cuddly stuffed germs. But that's me, I don't think it's odd.

Oh, I don't mind that people have different tastes in just about everything imaginable (and we do), I was just curious as to why it was found disturbing or odd. I'm not saying people can't find something odd.

^Is it wrong that as soon as I saw your desktop, I said "Oh, that old image. Seen it a dozen times?"

A fox with bosoms wearing a bikini? I don't know.

She's an anthropomorphic fox. Nothing odd about that.

J.

That really depends on your definition of odd, I think.
I find it funny seeing the "furry weirdness" brought to fore here of all the times; the night before last, a friend of myself and my roommate stopped by, bearing a wildlife calender that he proceeded, with my roommate , to conspicuously and with much loud discussion and mocking hang over the furry art calender that I have in my kitchen. It's a clean calender, nothing hinky in it, but it just goes to show that even what seems normal to folks like Jay and me will freak somebody out.

I just wish they had perhaps addressed their dissatisfaction with my decor in a direct, respectful and mature manner rather than the jokes and vague insults at my taste in art that they use instead. It feels kind of hurtful.

...I'm sorry, what were we talking about again? Desktops, right. Well I like Jay's choice. :p

Thanks! I had just found it today. Unfortunately, for me there seems to be a lack of good quality anthro wallpapers. So far, I've found several beautiful pictures, but they're way too small to make a desktop or the resolution's too low to make a decent 1600x900 wallpaper. Over at FAF I scoured through hundreds of desktop wallpapers, and while some were good, most of them were very poorly made, and none of them ended up being anywhere near the resolution of my monitor.

Do you have pictures? I'm curious what stuffed germs look like.

I don't have pictures of my own germs (now that's a line to be taken out of context!) but they were all bought from this site: Giant Microbes. I've been collecting them for ages, from way back when the company only made six germs. Swine flu is next on the shopping list :)

Educational too :)

That's a heck of a conversation to overhear:

Person A: "So which germ did you end up getting?"
Person B: "Oh, I got The Clap."
Person A: "When did you get it?"
Person B: "Oh, a week ago, when we were visiting my Uncle's cottage in Vancouver."
Person A: "Fun, isn't it?"
Person B: "Oh, it's the greatest. I hope I can get Swine Flu this week, too."

That's what conversations between me and my sister are like! I hope no-one's listening in, we'll be on a government terrorist watch-list somewhere.

I'm doing Halloween backgrounds and will probably change it every week or so and wanted to get this one up before I do. So who knows what this is from?

Oh, and I changed the disease to The Clap, just so you know. I couldn't find SARS on the germs page. :D
