I recently became aware of this tradition and it is time to start a new seasonal desktop thread. Here's the link to the summer one, which ended oct. 17 (Though not closed yet. Please, mods?) in its original phrasing: The end of summer post your desktop thread! And here's a glimpse of spring, courtesy of Dave, my computer (I'm trying flattery on it, since calling it an ass doesn't work when Internet Explorer crashes because he's jealous of my MSN activities) and courtesy of my mother, who took the picture outside my parents' house:
here's my lappy's desktop: click for full size I use the SlanXP theme, Samurize, StartKiller, and RocketDock to achieve this layout I made the desktop image with the program Apophysis and the desktop and a couple others can be downloaded from my flickr here: http://www.flickr.com/photos/30241913@N02/sets/72157610207241150/
Nice picture Ria, very warm! Cool setup Mr. B!!! Here is mine, I'm really in a winter mood! Woei cold! Here is the fullsize > 5920X1050 And here is a photo of my actual desktop with my beloved cup of tea. The cup is in essence one of the reasons I decided to do something creative for a hobby. It's from a highschool where I used to work. The school had some very artistic people, the design of the school was also artistic, and the location: quite deep into a forest. (It was not Hogwarts btw.) That place really inspired me to improve.
This is work: I decided to switch to a Ravens picture on the off chance that the Director might see it and decide that I'm the perfect person to whom to give his unused season tickets...
(Click to see it a little bigger) Ever since I found this world clock -with seasonal change- I haven't changed my desktop. ____________ Edit: Here: http://codefromthe70s.org/desktopearth_dl.aspx?
My "winter" desktop of my laptop: The picture was taken this summer at an airshow at Leeuwarden Air Base (Dutch Airforce public days). The aircraft, a KDC-10 Tanker made a low speed pass at 5 meters (16 feet) above the ground over the whole landingstrip. A pretty amazing sight.
I looked for someone else's code and used that. How do you get the dimensions to appear beneath the thumbnail?
Julemand (trekkiedane)'s world clock looks awesome - I'm going to have to get one of those. For now though, this is my desktop It's my daughter the first winter we were here in Saskatoon, so two years ago. It's difficult to judge size in the picture - she had just turned two
It is pretty cool: has settings for what sort of lighting you'd like to have, noon or midnight in the middle, cloud cover, update frequency, multiple monitor support…
