I do think the only worry for Modern Family & Cougar Town is that the 8-9 slot could fall and affect them via lead in audience. Also I wonder if NBC should switch L&O SVU and Mercy around so SVU won't have to go up against fellow cop drama Criminal Minds and could boost both shows if a bigger 8pm lead in occurs for them.

I think something else that may hurt it is that some markets switch to the Powerball drawing during the final frames.

I flipped it on in the last few minutes last night and right when the boy that tried to rape the one witch's daughter was shown in that little booth the episode was cut off for the powerball drawing. I think that could cause a lot of people to lose interest (they don't get to see the final minutes!)
