Bed Sheets

Why is it in future shows/movies they always have shimmery sheets? What's so damn futuristic about shimmery sheets? They're cold and slippery and you get little sequins all over you.

I always thought it was weird in random Star Trek episodes when they had little triangle pillows. Who the hell would sleep on that?

Not to mention they looked liked stiff, foam, throw pillows and not a big, cushy, soft pillow you curl up with.

I've gotten my last three sets of sheets at Ross. You can get cheep ones there obviously, since that is what they specialize in, but they also get some pretty good quality name brand stuff in there at a lot lower price than you'd find in a department store.

Actually, bedding arrangement is very much a cultural thing. Japanese bedding is very different from western one. Even in Europe, there are many differences.

Personally, I like to sleep on very stiff mattress, with a very flat pillow. My fiancee don't even use one, so when I sleep at her home I do without it, too. Actually, it makes great things for my neck and shoulders, so probably I will take the habit myself.

^I just can't sleep unless my head is above my shoulders a bit. To each his own though. Cakes, I definitely concur about the no-sheets thing. It's just icky. Not only would that be uncomfortably scratchy...but if you had a pillow top, you'd degrade the mattress far faster than you would with sheets. It also helps to have one of those moisture protector things on it (plastic-y on one side, soft on the other).

Personally, I find that the sheets really don't make much of a different to me. As long as they're not too low quality, I could care less.
