Maybe, fter getting the top 5 from this poll, add a few of the mentioned missing themes, and then run the poll again...that can helpnarrow it down.

Also, at that point, is there a legal place where we can hear each theme? A few of those i have forgotten, or never heard...

Law & Order, most definitely. But "Everything this guy does is awesome!" works for me, too. ;)

I always rather liked the Greatest American Hero theme -- which as far as I know is the only theme on this list that actually qualifies as a "song." You can't call something a song unless there's a human voice singing it. The others are simply main title themes.

And doesn't Pete Carpenter, Post's collaborator on most of his '80s TV work, get any recognition?
Hardcastle and McCormack was sung.

I like most of those themes, but one of my favorites is Stingray http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9FNEvOIeAjY&feature=related

Why wasn't Tales of the Gold Monkey on the poll? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YdFN6agkNnQ

The A-Team, followed closely by Doogie Howser MD, then Greatest American Hero, Quantum Leap and Law & Order.

Law & Order.

The version that they used starting with the 4th season, that is. For the first three seasons, a different mix was used, which was too long and didn't have enough bass.

We'll have to agree to disagree there. I like the original better (I think it goes better with the credit montage as well).

The Blossom theme song was also sung.

I voted for Doogie Howser M.D. (I love the SNL sketch where Neil Patrick Harris was hosting and he plays the Doogie Howser theme on a keyboard.)

2nd place goes to Law & Order. 3rd place to The Rockford Files.
