Do you play games with friends?

I have been gaming with some of the same people since 7th grade. I just turned 45 so it has been a few decades with this crowd.

Yeah, I play games with my friends using our PSP, we really love playing Tekken and Burnout Legend. :techman:

I actually want to be more in touch with my friends so I'm planning on playing Aion Online so we could gather often.

I play CoD: World at War in a clan with 5 of my real life friends. We play the online multiplayer stuff and the co-op missions together. We're all picking up Operation Flashpoint 2 and Modern Warfare 2 too.
When we're all in the same house, we play each other at anything from Guitar Hero/Rock Band, to games like Fifa, Motorstorm or Fight Night.

Hey Servo you picking up Flashpoint 2 for 360 ? me n my mate are looking for people to to tackle CO-OP with.

Aye, I am mate. The only thing is that I'll be playing it quite heavily with my clanmates, so I'm not sure how much time I'll have to play it with other people. Will have to see when the time comes pal.

no problem, I plan on double dipping in long run...Get it on 360 for CO-OP play and Achievements and get PC version later down line for big 16 vs 16 battles.

I hope I can get into thsi game it does look a serious challenge.

Yeah, it does. I'm really looking forward to getting my head into it with my mates. We've been playing World at War together pretty successfully for the better part of a year, so Flashpoint should make for an interesting challenge and change of pace.

I just hope it's good enough to survive Modern Warfare 2's arrival a month later.

A friend of mine has already decided not to get OP 2 because of Modern Warfare 2 release so soon after, he feels his clan gaming in MOD 2 will take up too much time. Personally I only buy COD games for single player as online is becoming a joke with amount of silly perks etc.

How does clan gaming work on 360 Servo ? most games if not all bar L4D don't use dedicated servers so ain't lag an issue and other stuff like getting everyone on the correct team, settings etc...Or do you just do CO-OP ?

On World at War it's ok most of the time. Getting everyone on the correct team is easy, because WaW lets you create a party in-game. The leader of the party then chooses the game type and joins, and the game puts you all in it together on the same team.
Lag is very rarely an issue unless someone's connection is really struggling, but games ending due to poor connections to the host have been becoming increasingly more frequent over the last few months. I think that has partly contributed to why we don't play it as often as we used to. It can get a bit frustrating when for every full game you get to play, five end early due to connection issues.
Also, you get arsehole hosts who end or leave the game when they're losing, causing the game to finish. Thankfully, MW2 has introduced Host Migration, so that wont be an issue come November.
There's no dedicated facility for clan matches, though. You just get put into random games, and just have to hope you get put into a game where you're up against four or more members of the same clan. If you're lucky enough to get in one, clan vs clan on Hardcore Team Deathmatch or Hardcore Search & Destroy can be awesome.
