NFL Football 2009

Denver has impressed me. I kinda figured that they would be a general mess, but I never predicted that the teams one bright spot would be the defense. Admittedly, they haven't gone against major teams yet, but the D has really held their own so far.

That was a tough loss from San Fran today but I didn't mind it all that much. You can't win them all, and they held their own in hostile territory, which was also the home opener. Hill made some great passes, and Vernon Davis had a great day. I still want to see them improve on third down and just offense in general, but the Defense (Other than the final play where it was Farve being Farve) and special teams weren't that bad. Next week should be an interesting game against the Rams and hopefully a bounce back game.

Tough loss for the Niners today. I thought they were going to win the game, but Minnesota came through on a miracle-type play at the end. Singletary has impressed me as a coach so far. He caught a lot of flak in his days as interim coach last year, but he's got the team headed in the right direction. Any word on how badly Gore is hurt?

As for Baltimore, they look scarily good again this year. And Denver is looking better than I thought. That tipped pass against Cincy really seems to have given them some life.

All I heard was a right ankle sprain. Hopefully after the tests he should be able to play, but because next week is against the Rams, I wouldn't be surprised if he sat out that game.

It is looking like the D is back in Denver.

Let them play somebody. The Raiders, Bengals, and Browns were a combined 13-34 last season.

If they've got a winning record in mid November after playing the Cowboys, Chargers, Patriots, Ravens, and Steelers then you might have something.

They started out 3-0 last year as well before getting run out of the stadium by the 2-14 Chiefs. The game against San Diego they should have lost.

But, any day the Broncos beat the Raiders is a good day

KNBR folks were calling it a strain today. My guess it's worse than that and he sits next week with the bye week following. He'll be back after that. He's obviously a great runner, but injuries have kept him out of a lot of action over the years so far.

That was frustrating to watch- I really wanted SF to pull it off. And they would have if they could have just managed to get a first down in their last possession and take some time off the clock. Now the Favre mania will be in full force all week leading up to next Monday's Packer-Viking game. Sucks being a Packer fan in a MN media market.

Glad the Packers won, but it was another ugly game. Their defense has some serious problems. The Rams did play pretty good once Kyle Boller took over for Bulger, though.

And the funny thing is 90% of that play was all on Lewis. Guy makes one of the best catches you'll ever see, but "It was all Favre!"

I also find it funny that the Niners fans are crying the "luck" blame, yet on the SFs last scoring drive, had Hill snapped the ball 2 tenths of a second faster he throws the interception and the whole thing is moot. Talk about your lucky penalties. :p

Pennington out for year with busted shoulder. This happens every other year. I saw a lot of him when he was on the Jets and I lived in NY. He's an accurate, intelligent QB who seems like a decent guy overall. Bummer.

On the other hand, its never bad to see a division rival lose their QB.

Dammit I miss Wes Welker. I'm glad they have his clone in Julian Edelman. Worst football name of all time, but a nice player.

There's an offensive lineman on the Seahawks named Mansfield Wrotto... which sounds like the name of a European soccer team. Or at least someone who should be speaking with a proper English accent.

I hope I wasn't that way.

The law firm of Mansfield, Wrotto and Associates is there for your personal injury needs.

To be fair, Greg Lewis sucks 90% of the time. Favre had to have given him divine talent in order to make that play.

I find your lack of faith disturbing.
