Superman Batman: Public Enemies

^
If you feel that way and have not read the issues of Action Comics that Gary Frank illustrated (collected in the Superman and the Legion of Super-Heroes and Superman: Brainiac TPBs), go seek them out. Most fans agree that his Superman looks to be very inspired by Christopher Reeve.

Oh and you might want to also keep your eye out for Superman: Secret Origins, which Gary Frank is drawing also. The first issue is out on September 23rd.
Thanks muchly!:techman:

Andrea Romano said in the Superman/Batman featurette that was a part of the Green Lantern: First Flight DVD that having these actors reprise their roles was something she stipulated as a requirement if she were to do the voice direction for this DVD.
She didn't state it quite that strongly. She said she pleaded to be allowed to use her actors from the TV shows, but she didn't say she wouldn't do the voice direction unless her request was granted.

Beyond Superman, Lois looks exactly like Margot Kidder in Brainiac.

World's Finest reports that Corey Burton provides the voice of Captain Marvel, meaning that the previous report that Jerry O'Connell would voice the character was erroneous.

You know, I was wondering about that. It wouldn't be unprecedented for the people who edit IMDb to enter "wish list" names in the cast list of a film that isn't out yet. Heck, before Star Trek: Nemesis came out, IMDb listed a cast that included virtually every Romulan character that ever appeared in 24th-century Trek. So maybe a lot of these familiar names in the cast list are going to turn out to be false.

I'm having a hard time imagining Corey Burton as Captain Marvel. He does a lot of different voice types, but that kind of voice seems to be outside his normal repertoire.

Turns out there were a few incorrect voice cast listings online (presumably from overeager fans editing Wiki and IMDB). Here's the confirmed voice cast:

Clancy Brown as Lex Luthor
Kevin Conroy as Batman/Bruce Wayne
Tim Daly as Superman
Xander Berkely as Captain Atom
Corey Burton as Captain Marvel
Ricardo Chavira as Major Force
Allison Mack as Power Girl
John C. McGinley as Metallo
CCH Pounder as Amanda Waller
LeVar Burton as Black Lightning
Calvin Tran as Toyman
Mark Jonathan Davis as Newscaster
Brian George as Gorilla Grodd
Jennifer Hale as Starfire
Rachael MacFarlane as Nightshade
Alan Oppenheimer as Alfred
Andrea Romano as Giganta
Bruce Timm as Mongul

World's Finest has also learned that Michael Gough will provide the voice of Hawkman.

Hmm, so only Brown, Conroy, Daly, and Pounder are reprising their former roles, though a number of WB Animation veterans are returning in different roles.

Alan Oppenheimer as Alfred? Cool! I haven't heard any voice work from him in over a decade, though IMDb says he's done a couple of shows I haven't seen and plays a character in the movie 9, which I haven't seen yet. Mostly he seems to do video games these days, as well as the occasional on-camera role.

And Michael Gough seems an odd choice for Hawkman.

Well, I presume it's the Michael Gough who's been a pretty omnipresent voice actor for a long time, as opposed to the Michael Gough who played Alfred.

I like how Andrea Romano and Bruce Timm are lending their own voices as well. C. C. H. Pounder has always kicked ass as Amanda Waller, IMHO.

It IS gonna be sort of short at under 70 minutes, but then Superman: Doomsday was short too, and I enjoyed it immensely.:techman:

Oh, I didn't know there were two different actors with that name. That's odd -- usually one of them would modify his name to avoid confusion. I guess they aren't in the same union so they don't have to, but it would sure be helpful.

They couldn't get Malcolm McDowell or Powers Boothe back for Metallo and Grodd? Either too expensive or scheduling issues, nuts.

Yeah, their reinvention of him as a classy mercenary as opposed to random thief really worked out great. McDowell rocked in that reinvention.

My top three Voice Directors:

1) Andrea Romano
2) Susan Blu (Beast Wars/Machines, War Planets, TMNT 2003)
2) Jamie Thompson (Spectacular Spiderman)

Since all the roles have been recast except for the big three and Waller (contrary to earlier reports), I think it's more a matter of "didn't choose to" rather than "couldn't." Bringing back Conroy, Daly, Brown, and Pounder is an exception to the usual policy of using a different cast each time.

He's pretty ubiquitous.
