The New Muse CD - The Resistance

My first impression was that they had cunningly released an album of B-sides as a proper album, but the album is growing on me. My favorite tracks are Uprising and Undisclosed Desires (Muse meets Depeche Mode). The other tracks just make me wonder why they released US of Eurasia as their first single as everything else is so much better. Exogenesis isn't winning me over the way it seems to be winning everyone else and I actually consider this section to be the weakest part of the album.

Only listened to it all the way through 3 or 4 times and those two are my picks so far as well.

Then how did I end up hearing it before the album release? Was this just early promo rather than single proper?

They chose to leak it. It was hidden around the world on 6 USB sticks, fans found the sticks and uploaded and the song was put together for everyone else. It was the result of their frankly over-the-top and tedious viral marketing campaign.

Undisclosed Desires is completely lost on me. At best I'd call it a really bad Depeche Mode b-side, and Depeche Mode have some baaaad b-sides. I really do find it and I Belong to You unlistenable.
