USS Titan 3D pic????

What is the capacity of an escape pod? How many crewman can it hold and how long can it sustain them? I'm guessing it has some type of food/water aboard. What about toilet facilities? Does it have any type of propulsion (thrusters?)

Can the pods physically link up with others?

Any chance of seeing a detailed schematic/picture of an escape pod?

The Titan's escape pod hatches resemble those of the Enterprise-E, so it's likely that they have the same "beefy grand piano" look of the escape pods that we saw in Star Trek: First Contact.

As for their capabilities, they're probably similar to the capabilities of the boxy Enterprise-D lifeboats, which are described in great detail in the Star Trek: The Next Generation Technical Manual.

Been a while since I've seen this thread. Simply gorgeous shots. Any chance of seeing a small-scale physical model being made and sold?

Those are definitely some nice-looking renders, Sean... pass along my congrats to the modeler when you talk to him next! :)

I noticed that he seems to have done a LITTLE bit of "internal structure" in terms of putting a floor (and maybe walls?) inside of at least a few of the windows (this is most evident at the bridge structure). Is this really the case or are my eyes deceiving me?

About the life boats... I presume that these are very similar to those on the 1701E. I did some basic "internal design" for my own lifeboats, but mine are smaller than these. On the other hand, I set up a LOT of lifeboats (each with the capacity to carry three personnel for as long as two months if necessary... with LOTS of "recycling")... enough to evacuate the entire crew if necessary. I get the impression, based upon the size of this ship and the number of lifeboats, that either (1) the crew is gonna be awfully cramped inside of these things, or (2) there aren't enough lifeboats to evacuate the entire crew. Have you worked out the details of this issue, or is the count sort of "random?"

There could always be more hidden behind panels, or perhaps even stacked below the surface pods.

35 pods holding ten people each. Those pods are for EMERGENCIES, minimal comfort, maximum capacity, I would presume.

The Titan only has a crew of 350

I actually stold the pods from the Ent-E. I like the stacked idea as well. Nice one.

If you head over to my deviant art site you will see pics that were used in the newest trek mag. One had its background changed, but they are the same angle.

Cary Take a good look at the Impulse deck on these you will see something to address an old issue of yours.

I will be out of CPU range over the next couple of days since we are moving into a new
house. I will check back when I can.

She's a good ship!

btw, in that link, the images there, it looks like the impulse engine structures are missing detailing? Just very plain block structures compared to the rest of the ship. It stands out in the images.

Just curious... it's been ages since Titan was revealed, the covers published, the model put out in the tour...

Will we ever see a big gallery of beauty shots of her somewhere?

I've searched the net and only found perhaps a half-dozen "finished" shots of her. Far too few. :p

Im also was hoping by now id be able to buy a official Model kit for the Titan :)

As for the escape pod question. If you count the pods on Seans design, there are just short of 100 (98) escape pods, meaning each escape pod carries around 3-5 people each. (A little shuffle space in case of some of the pods being destroyed before they abandon ship I imagine.)

Actually, I like the general layout of the ship. I have only one problem with it... that being the arrangement of the impulse engines... and that's something that I've discussed ad-nauseum with Sean T. previously. (If the engines on the ship are newtonian in their functionality, the ship will simply fly in little circles at impulse! ;) ) I would have preferred more of a "classic" design aesthetic, but I think that the Luna class is actually pretty nice looking. I'm looking forward to seeing the render... and hopefully to a lot more (once S&S take off the "gag rule"... silliest thing I've heard of in ages!)

It took me time to get used it too.
Also since I don't believe impulse engines are rockets then it doesn't matter where you place them. Field propulsion has it's benefits, eh?

Ellery has been working on some new shots of the Titan for the Official Star Trek Magazine, and has post a few new shots of her while we wait for the next issue to come out.

He is still working on the color but here they are.

I honestly and truely...hate the hull pattern that has been done over the entire ship. (sigh) It's awful. It looks like it was made from snap together parts.

Tell them to go back Sean...do it again.

Actually I like it, this is the same mesh that has been used on The Sword of Damocles & in the Stat Trek magazine, and the mesh was also sent to the Model Marker who made the six foot model.

I agree that the lighting is off on those shots, but That was berfore Ellery redid all of the lighting and most of the Textures.

There is nothing wrong with the mesh. There is something wrong with using the same mesh over the entire ship.

1.The Azteching is off the charts.

The reason why that's a problem is because it's highlighting the hypnotizing hull pattern that's been placed over the entire ship.

2. Hull plating isn't generic. The Saucer may have one pattern that best fits the concentric circle but that pattern would not work for the Nacelles Pylons, the Secondary Hull and the Pod Pylons.

It doesn't look realistic. That hull pattern was applied Anmasse not as the hull dictates, Sean. That's no good. The ship looks perfectly CGI because of it.

a.The leading edges and the trailing edges of the Pylons sould be a different pattern than the mid-surface

b. The Nacelles themselves would independently created with a completely different shape from the nacelles and a completely different cage frame underneath which is what dictates the hull pattern, unless the vessel is armor layered and not just a preasure hull like a Galaxy Class.

(That's my Opinion Sean)

I have picture examples but I don't know how to add them on this forum.

Again those two images are from earlier version of the mesh. He has since redid a lot of the Textures, Lighting and even parts of the mesh. I am not a 3D artist so I wouldn't know how to fix things. any way Ellery has since moved to Wisconsin and is a teacher
at the University. The Titan as left his scope for now.

Check out my deviant site for other pics of the mesh.
