Please convince me to re-watch DS9!

Some episodes/reasons why I think DS9 is/was great...

- "Blood Oath"

- "Far Beyond the Stars"

- "The Visitor"

ALL extremely, and I do mean extremely powerful episodes, with great character moments, and plenty of emotion.

I finished watching all 7 seasons from DVD last night. It took me about two months. It is the best of the series and like Enterprise, I liked it better the second time. I understand not liking Ben and Kira. Different people dislike different things. By the end I could not stand the way Rom was played. By season 7 I would use his appearances as an excuse to go to the bathroom.

Kira softened up a lot towards the end. Benjaman changed his deliver after the first season (at least to me). But the best reason to watch is the cast as a whole. They did an excellent job casting the show, umm, except for Rom.

If they had used the secondary characters of DS9 to fill the bridge of Voyager that show might have been much, much better.

Randi, I just finished watching season 1, and...I think you might want to try a few more episodes before giving up. There are a lot of pretty mediocre ones, but there are at least a couple of absolute stunners, at least IMO. I really don't think you should give up on season 1 without watching "Duet" and "In the Hands of the Prophets." Fantastic Trek and fantastic television!

I haven't started season 2 yet, but I'll let you know what I think once I know what I think.

"The Visitor", That's the one with Old Jake telling the young woman what happened to Sisko 50 years earlier, correct? Of so, I agree, that was one of the series' high points.
