Depends on the trial, no? The last time I served on a jury, I went in jeans and a t-shirt. But that was a small domestic dispute.
But that's beside the point. Like I said, they should know when to wear their "preferred" wardrobe.

I think more than a decade later, we're still recovering from that 'Trekkies' damage. I figured the new movie would restore Trek's cool, but it seems there's still some way to go.
That said, I don't see how dressing up in a Starfleet uniform is really any different to dressing in a sports jersey, or dressing up like Elvis, or like a denim 'n' leather metalhead. They're all 'uniforms' of fandom, in a sense. Whatever floats your boat. Although, there is a time and a place. That juror has done Trekkies probably irredeemable harm.

Yeah... Conan does a lot of jokes based on the stereotypes about the Irish, and the subject he ridicules the most is himself. If you took him seriously, practically everyone could be insulted by his shows.
I thought he was a Trekkie because he had Shatner and Takei doing those "Secrets" jokes a few times.
I adore Conan, and I think the jokes are hilarious. I always get a kick out of The Simpsons people mentioning in their commentary how glad they are that he got a show since he was apparently doing bits and sketches in empty writer's rooms.

I like Conan. But he needs to be less 'overtly' liberal as he appears to be more and more; and I am an OBAMA supporter! I didn't like when Leno started going political, and I dont watch Letterman anymore because of it.

You'd have a point if said person wore the jersey, the leggings, the pads, the cleats and the helmet, in which case I'd say the person wearing the sports clothing to the grocery store was equally retarded. Wearing a sports jersey would be like wearing a DS9 t-shirt, no one would give it second glance.
Sorry, walking around in your daily life with a full uniform waving your fake tricorder and phaser around is not the same as wearing a football jersey.
I'd also comment that the people who attend Trek Conventions in costume are no different than people who paint their bodies and dress in uniforms for sporting events, they are equally geeky in their own way and in no way indicate deviant behaviour.
No, it really doesn't. It explores the life of extreme Trek fans. I don't think the general public who saw Trekkies (the few that did) believes that everyone who watches Star Trek is like that, they are obviously not the norm.
How much fun would it be to see a movie about John Smith who has a collection of TNG DVDs and occasionally watches TOS reruns and otherwise has no connection to Star Trek?
I think Conan's hilarious. I loved the Who Made Huckabee? crossover last year and I think that he combines talent on the same level, or better than, Letterman while being at least as nice as Leno. Truly the most deserving person finally got The Tonight Show.
That said, his comedy has often felt self-conscious to me. He'll go for stereotypes about things that fit him because, at least comedically (though probably less likely in real life), he's got a sort of inferiority complex. Self-deprecating humor is an extremely fine line to walk in which you must laugh at yourself without appearing to court pity. This is the only area in which I think Conan fails comedically.
But it was awesome to have Shatner read Palin's speech as stream-of-consciousness poetry, complete with a jazz combo grooving to the mind-boggling non sequiturs.
