Tattoos-do you have any?

tsq, I have a question about your treble clef that has bugged me ever since I first saw the picture a few months ago. Is the picture a reflection or flipped, or is your actual tattoo a reversed clef? I think the dimensionality is quite lovely, but I've just always wondered why the image is backwards. :)
 I took the picture with my webcam, so it is mirror image. I didn't even think about it, since I only ever really see the tattoo in the mirror myself! This is what it ought to look like:

My OCD and I thank you.

I've got a tattoo question. My tattoo, featured upthread, has faded a bit. I also kind of regret getting just a solid black tattoo; I think it would look better with more detail or shading or something. Is it possible to go back over a tattoo and make certain parts darker?

Yes, you can get them touched up.

I have no tattoos and have no intention of changing that. However, smaller tattoos on other people can look great, though I've never appreciated larger ones.

I used to be pretty non-receptive to tattoos on other people (expressing a less virulent form of disdain than has been voice upthread), but have mellowed out a bit of late.

Wow, this thread certainly got more activity than I had anticipated...

To address some issues other forum members brought up:

I'm not going to regret them when I'm old, because the body is already 52 years old...if I don't know what I want by now, I never will.

Locations-right now, I have 2 on each upper arm, visible only when I wear sleeveless shirts. I work in an accounting firm, so I have to keep it somewhat socially acceptable.

No, I didn't draw any of the art, because I suck at drawing. I chose each design because they meant something to me. I'm learning about Wicca, & am of Irish descent, & I've always loved the triquetra symbol. I also love white-with-black-spots cows, have for years. The TOS command symbol...hey, I remember watching TOS when it first aired...& Mr. Spock is the ultimate sexy alien. Heck, people, this IS a Star Trek forum, lol!

Also, all but 1 were a gift from my youngest son, who knows I always wanted some tattoos...so that makes those 3 extra special.

Mutenroshi, that looks awesome! I'm trying to get my total posts up to 50 so that I can show my Spock portrait...but I don't want to just do random one-word posts...this forum makes me THINK, lol! & that's a good thing

I don't have any yet but I have quite a lot of planned ones. I'm getting the Lt. Cmdr. ranking dots on my neck and getting the Cardassian-Klingon alliance logo on my right forearm. Except it'll be a while before I can afford them..

I just got my 4th tattoo-an awesome detailed portrait of Leonard Nimoy as Mr. Spock-TOS. I also have the command insignia from TOS, a triquetra, & a holy cow tattoo. I can't post any pics yet, still a newbie & under 50 posts. As soon as I can, I'll upload them.

Does anyone else out there have any tattoos? & if so, any Star Trek tatts?

:klingon:
Still contemplating whether to include a Star Trek element in one. I have a pair of f-holes, like an upright bass, on my back, and a thunderbolt on the inner right arm. Working on ideas/composition for a piece involving a steam locomotive & sailplane.
I'm not sure if Star Trek quite resounds on the level of a magical marking to me, at least at this point.
I think a lot of people are turned off by them because they think they are frivolous, or just something people like or want. A lot of those tattoos exist. But a magical, ritual tattoo, is something else.
As my friend and artist says, "I don't do Tasmanian Devils."
He also refuses to do names, and has no "flash" in his studio at all.
