My entire life, I have been tongue-tied. My tongue was attached all the way to the tip by that weird tendon thing underneath. I couldn't stick it out beyond my lips.

But a couple months ago, due to a freak teeth-brushing mishap, that tendon thing got sliced in half. For a while it really hurt, and then it healed. And now, I can stick it out so much farther than I could before! I can wag the tip up and down! I can almost touch my nose with it!

There's still a little bit of that tendon left. I'm tempted to slice the rest of it off to see what other things my tongue can do!

Actually, my hand slipped (I'm not even sure how), and I basically punched the underside of my tongue with my toothbrush, and the tendon ripped as a result.

Upon further googling, the "tendon thing" is actually called a "frenulum."

Sounds like you may have been "tounge tied." Odd that you haven't had that repaired in your early life.

I was tongue tied. It was very first thing I said in my original post.

It's not really something that ever required repair. My mouth has always functioned just fine.

Oddly enough, though, as soon as it happened my sex drive increased a lot! I think it was hiding in my frenulum the whole time.
