I need money!!!

"I'd pay bills." "I'd put it in a savings account." BORING!

Saving it is fine, but are you saving it for a specific purpose?

For general future expenses, but mostly would be saving so we could have kids. I really do want to have children. But I want to make sure that my relationship with my husband is quite solid, and I really want to make sure that we could not just provide for children, but provide well. As much as I want kids, I'm not bringing any into the world unless I know they'll be well taken care of.

Eminently responsible. :)

Well, or a nice boat trip from Australia to Europe is perhaps a possibility. :)

While the big passenger liners of old have all but disappeared, a lot of freighters have passenger cabins. Prices tend to be about twice that of airfare, which, considering they offer room, board, and all the leg room you could want, isn't all that bad.

I don't know about that. The QM2 looks quite interestimg.

I would use the extra income to move and, hopefully, buy my own house.

In that house, I would have an unfinished basement. I would then use the extra money to finish that basement, building a fancy bar and an entertainment center. I might even buy a foosball table.

And then I'd buy the new 2010 Ford Taurus because it's SO PRETTY!

A man after my own heart.

The first thing I would do with the money is pay off the current bills. Then I'd buy a new or newer car (I like that Taurus, but I also like the 2010 Fusion Hybrid)

I'd also build the house with a large unfinished basement. But the bar and entertainment center would have to go in the living/dining area as the basement is for something far, far more important...the railroad. I'd put in a large HO scale model railroad with a California theme.

I don't know what it is, but I just love the idea of finishing a basement. I would never buy a house with an already-finished basement. There's just no fun there!

Haven't you heard that old mexican saying - 'cheaper by the dozen'?

Nevertheless...LAME! Buy something shiny!

Eh, I've been privileged enough to have lots of shiny things in my life. Right now I've got three major expenses I'm looking at in coming years: a move to the city, a graduate degree, and eventually children. These are things that I hope will bring an overall improvement to my life that lasts longer than some gadget or nice clothes. It's not like we're cutting everything out. I've just experienced the materialistic side of life and it has helped me shape my priorities.

I'm trying! I feel like I'm years behind, but I'm trying to learn to be an adult anyway.

I'd probably save it to remodel the kitchen and bathroom, and buy a newer pc, laptop, and bicycle. I could find any number of uses for an extra £250 or so, but 500 pounds would be even better... :rommie:

I'd save most of it, but after that: Either Amazon or the grocery story would get it. Amazon loves to see me logging on, I'm sure. Failing that, I would probably spoil my critters (1 guinea pig and two gerbils) even more than they are now. :D
