Nowhere Man
Commodore
I thought the movie reminded me of Star WarsIV Cobra Comander was like Vader and the whole movie had an original star wars feel, I kept waiting for General Hawk to say " Lets blow thing kid and get out of here"
Ironically, the actors who were arguably the three biggest names in the film didn't really do much with their roles: Dennis Quaid, Christopher Eccleston, and Joseph Gordon-Levitt. They're all three solid actors, and I was expecting a lot more from them than I got. Quaid in particular seemed to be phoning things in. Eccleston was probably the best of the lot, but his Destro wasn't a tenth as engaging as his Ninth Doctor. Gordon-Levitt? Well, the heavy makeup, costume, and voice treatment didn't do him a lot of favors, I guess.
was it just me, or did the mark the nanomites left on the skin look like a Cobra sigil?
Looked that way to mewas it just me, or did the mark the nanomites left on the skin look like a Cobra sigil?
I think that was deliberate.
SourceStephen Sommers took great care over the technology depicted in the film, going through various books/magazines about weapons technology. He feels that almost 100% of the technology can be developed within 10-20 years.
^ Is this like when Dean Devlin said Godzilla was 100% scientifically accurate?
It depends post WWII, Korea and Vietnam there were enough technical advisers running around. It depended upon the production. Rank insignia for US forces has not changed in sometime, you kind of expect even the most amateur production to get that right even if they did things I've seen like put officer branch insignia on enlisted and general officers, put name tags and qualification badges on the wrong side of uniforms, put combat patches on the shoulders of troops right from basic training etc.Hollywood has rarely, if ever, gotten military rank and structure right.
It's gotten 39% so far on Rotten Tomatoes ... ouch.
Why does anyone care about stuff like Rotten Tomatoes scores?? Seriously I have never understood that.
The film rocked and I enjoyed it.
Because... no one knows what to think anymore, unless something tells them what to think. Shame really.
Which law is that? Not 10 USC 772, especially after the Supreme Court looked at it in Schacht. Is there another law I'm unaware of?Of course you realize there is ALWAYS going to be some mistake somewhere on a soldier's uniform in movies...by law, they can NOT be 100% authentic.

Not sure what the citation is, I just know it's a law and has been for a long time. It's even been discussed in various commentary tracks.
i don't think it's set past 2019.
