Babylon 5: Season Four Crunch

So in your scenario... the PsiCorps attacks B5 with a fleet of ships? Whose ships? We saw they just had shuttles / cargo ships in hyperspace. They're attack B5 to liberate Bester? Why would they care enough about one teep to do that?

Why do you assume they only have shuttles and cargo ships...? Bester took Sheridan to Z'Ha'Dum in a bid to salvage any technology left behind once the Shadows left - whose to say they haven't done that on hundreds of other worlds and built up a hidden fleet should mundanes turn against them.

They would go after Bester because of the information he knows (like their fleet for example), what the trial means for telepaths in general (I never said they were attacking to liberate him...) and because they need a victory in a war that they're losing.

Hell, it's all imaginative fun.

EDIT: Oh and I would also drop Infection and TKO from Season One and include The Gathering as eps 101 & 102, shifting the current cast to replace Takeshima, Kyle, etc, and including Starfuries in the standoff at the end of the episode. In the same vein, I would put A Call to Arms as the two hour pilot for Crusade.

Well I guess PsiCorps could have palmed some of those Shadow Tech EA Destroyers from "Between the Darkness and the Light". That would have been a nice call back.

You're forgetting the Black Omega squadron. And that was just the squadron known to the public. If they had mother ships and shuttles floating in hyperspace, it's not a far stretch to go that they had several starfury squadrons to defend those ships, as seems to be standard EA tactical policy.

Bester has always been a mystery, and intentionally so. He often seemed to possess more knowledge than would be expected for a psicop, even one of his experience. Perhaps he knows too much about too many things, and would require a rescue.

You're forgetting that the very idea of a Psi Corp "frontal assault" against the mundanes was discussed on the series, between Garibaldi & Edgars. As was pointed out then, the Psi Corp can't pull off that kind of coup, even if they had military hardware they're still outnumbered 1000 - 1. More to the point though the force of arms wasn't the base of their power and never would be. Their power is in information, fear and intimidation. If in some senario they REALLY needed control of B5 then it wouldn't be attempted with starfuries and breaching pods but with sleeper agents, reprograms, covert scanning. Quietly, in the dark where nobody would even know they were there.

Hence I think they would try and steal as much alien technology as possible. They probably had their hands deep in the pockets of IPX. Imagine an alien device that could amplify your telepathic abilities?

Shadows were susceptible to telepathic influence; imagine a telepath seated at the controls of a Shadow vessel...? Now if Bester knew the location of a captured Shadow ship that would be worth a rescue attempt.

I think it's well established that they were experimenting with shadow tech, though most of that was in the novels and comics Lyta mentioned in Season 5 that Psi Corp had gotten hold of a remote control pod at some point and at least certain elements within Psi Corp were involved with "Bureau 13", which seamed to be the same black ops elements that were going to be a significant part in Crusade. I don't know to what extent the Corps would have played there after it's disillusion but I doubt it's a coincidence that JMS included an ex-Corps teep as the ship's XO.

Still, they were a long ways off from being in a position to seriously attempt a successful coup. Clark constituted an oppertunity for them, but he died before they had all of their pieces in place and essencially set them back to where they were when Santiago was still in power. I imagine the very reason why they lost the Telepath War against the rogues (whom they probably outnumbered) was precisly because they were forced to move too soon. Regardless, having a Shadow Cruiser or five probably wouldn't have changed anything. Those things are only good for blowing stuff up and it was pretty evident after Ganemede that they didn't have the knowledge to use the technology properly. Sticking a teep inside one wouldn't stopping it from going insane and killing everything in sight.

Could be terrorism. They could threaten to stick a teep in a Shadow ship or their hybrid version of it and unleash it on a civilian (mundane) population if they don't get what they want. The escorted ship jumps into hyperspace with an escort and when they reach the target they stick the pilot inside. Probably another poor rogue teep they caught.

Or Byron. Maybe they'll try and get people to commit suicide at the threat of hearing him.

As far as a Psi-Corps sleeper agent, there is one already on the station in the form of Mr. Garibaldi.
