Perseid Meteor Shower - tonight?

Saw this in 2007 loved it missed it last year :( saw a real big fucker just cream it self on hitting the O Zone, dam that was good but I don't live in the same home that had a pitch black field 30 seconds :( this garden might be ok

Probably too much clouds tonight, like most of this summer.

Unless a big one comes blazing through the clouds and crashes in these hills out front...

Best time to see these tonight if I missed them this morning would be... 11pm - midnight and later I think?

The sun has come out now. Forecast suggests patchy cloud, possible clear skies. Could be in for a hell of a night. :)

Yes it's got sunny here in Scotlandshire. I'll try to remember to go and look. I remember getting everyone out of bed to see a lunar eclipse one time. How they thanked me.

My drunk neighbor was staring at an airplane last night thinking it was the meteor shower.

 Or the moon.
No, that would be alien spaceships. :guffaw:

The BBC website has a news item on the subject (the Perseids, not UFOs ;)) complete with a weather forecast from the delightful Laura Tobin, of whom much has already been said on these pages....

EDIT:

Hmmm, one of the recommended places is Mam Tor. That's only a short distance from where I live! Let's hope the skies remain clear tonight - I might even head out tonight and see...

If it's a good show, it'll probably make up for the disappointment when I missed out on the last major Leonids storm back in November 1998.
