I was thinking of something, last night on the route. When people do nice things for you, the common response is to say "Thank You" or imaybe you hold a door open for a person. We humans never do this for animals. What's wierd though in some instances, animals I think can show manners of a sort to humans.
I've had outdoor cats for example to kill a bird and leave the dead bird on my porch. The idea is I think when cat's ,and I think dogs do it as well, do this they are in essence presenting you a gift. Which in their way is them thanking you for feeding them and giving them water.
I'm not sure though if animals, could in response be aware of a human showing manners towards it. They can't understand our language so you can't show manners to them in that way. I'm not sure they understand why we pet them, and feed them. How would a human show manner's to a animal in away in which she/he would understand it. If they can even grasp the concept of manners.
